I assume the new facility will have a visitors locker room. Hopefully it will include a tunnel from the locker room to the field. They could probably do this where the old ADA accessible ramps were at the end of the the east stands closer to the scoreboard. This would also eliminate the need for the previous path on the west side allowing more seating on the hill.
I'd let the visiting teams use the existing men's room on the East side and anything that gets built new, we have access to it.

Sucks we aren’t getting rid of the aluminum stands for some concrete on the east side but I understand it isn’t that easy. I’m nitpicking but I’m also not a huge fan of how those concourses are connected. Why not bowl in that end somehow and make bigger concourses. I don’t know man I’m not an architect, I’m sure all this stuff has been thoroughly discussed and vetted.
People aren't supposed to be walking through the NEZ. Basically those sky boxes are adding some premium luxury boxes that will be serviced by the north end zone facilities.
Ah okay that makes more sense.
If you look at the rendering, there is a stair case on the outside of the NEZ that connects the patio connector and the stands. The first floor roof on the outside of the NEZ was designed for foot traffic. So while you will be able to move from one side to the other, you will do it by essentially exiting the stadium.
Interesting. I'm glad there is some sort of connectivity, but wish it was connected in front of the NEZ below the overhang and elevated off the ground so you can still be apart of the action. Never seen concourses connect "Outside" of the stadium.
It will keep people from congregating in areas that were meant for traffic flow.

Well damn, if we do that plus fill in the hill section we'd have a larger capacity than Wake, Duke and BC.

An elevated concourse still allows for the installation of NEZ-L bleachers down the road. Whether permanent or temporary really depends on how demand for the field level patio space changes with a new east tower.

Perhaps that’s how they see the next phase of this going, ending with a horse-shoed NEZ.

I’d really love to see someone with photoshop skills combine the gorgeous aerial shots of the UNC game with these renderings.

No. Guest locker rooms will remain where they are. No need to build a new one when what we have works.

Just a little more dead horse beating. I’m still confused as to how we get 40,000 capacity out of this expansion? Is this just a step that will EVENTUALLY get us to 40,000?

I was very happy to see those ramps are nowhere in the renderings. I’m hoping they’re incorporated into the new building and not piecemeal as they are now.
You mean the erector set?

It's interesting to me that the background of campus doesn't show the new dorms so this plan has been in design for some time it would appear.....

Good. I like the fact that the other team has to come out to the heckling of the students.
It’s also fun to watch them walk back that way after the game, when they get whipped.

GO APPS!!

The sliver of grass below the suites/bridge connecting the NEZ and east side looks like a good spot for a water feature.

These renderings are for me really lacking. So in the future we get Stadium parking lot back, two old dorms back and we lose the new dorms and parking deck? Ok I'll file this with the giant upper deck wing idea for now..

Has athletics raised the money for the 105 complex? I get the need/demand for more suites. But I'm not sure how any of this will be financed. Its not like athletics is sitting on a bunch of cash.

This project will be nearly half funded by the required capital investment and tickets to get seats. 600-650 club seats, 20 suites seating 20-25, and ~300 loge box seats. Club and loge alone will generate roughly $10mil capital investment over 5 years. Boxes will generate that or more. Ticket sales will generate $15-20mil over 5 years. That’s probably the cost of the building. The other half of the money is going to finish 105, west renovations, and to the new indoor facility (generally)

Edit: I just put together a quick spreadsheet of the numbers…over 5 years, if fully sold (and I’d bet they will), this would generate $46+ million. It pays for itself in under a decade.

Let me say that I agree with you. But, your post indicates the need to finance the East side expansion. We need more premium seats. But financing seems complicated at this point. For a variety of reasons, I'm not sure now is the time to "bet the come".

Sounds like some deep pockets are getting involved as well. I’m betting that with these seats and other donors that the majority is paid for without financing by 2028.

On that we disagree. I'm not sure we have that many deep pockets. One paid for the North Endzone. I believe that there's a market for more suites. But the idea that we have folks that will just stroke a check seems unrealistic.

Funding these projects are not going to be easy with interest rates where they are. Season tickets were inflated by the UNC game. Our fan base is already complaining about the per seat donation going forward.

I’m sure there’s a better than 0% chance that it comes to fruition, and I don’t adore the idea of financing any of it. But I do believe that these types of options/seats are necessary to continue growing. I’d say you and I are mostly in agreement

Oh, I think the East side expansion is going to happen. I have almost no doubt about that. We have demand (now) for more premium seats. I'm just worried about financing it in this rate environment. And if we trend down as a program... 10-2 keeps everyone interested. P5 home games keeps everyone holding season tickets. But...

Here’s some Jake Berry pics of progress at 105 project. Track is going to look great.
