We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

There's ice buildup on my car but I just went out and scraped it off with little problem. It's hovering around freezing so it's not that bad right now. After sundown could be different, but it's not supposed to get much colder so primary roads should be fine.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Evening everyone. Just wanted to say I'm leaving the list as is for right now. We'll know a little more tonight and tomorrow who might have cancelled because of the weather but since most coming this weekend were flying or driving long distance it seems most are here.
I do have a favor to ask. From now until signing day if anyone sees a post elsewhere about someone not listed please send me a PM before posting. There could be many reasons why they're not added. The poaching attempts will really pick up on Sunday/Monday through Thursday night or so (Friday for closer schools). That's about the latest a school can offer and still get someone on campus for a visit the last weekend, especially if that trip is a flying trip. Sunday the 1st is a quiet period and the 2nd through the 5th is a dead period (Signing Day being the 4th). Let's just keep all our fingers crossed that we can weather the usual storm and get everyone's fax on signing day.

And will be at Illinois next week. These visits have been planned for a while. Not much more we can do at this point. We've shown him the best App has to offer and now we await his decision. We'll see how it plays out.crossza wrote:Obe Fortune is currently in Statesboro

Unfortunately I have a feeling we will loose obe fortune to GSU. He seems to have many influences fans and friends pushing him there....I hope I'm wrong

I would think GSU would be wiser to keep recruits off campus till after they signed...

Re: Recruiting, 2015
I believe the only reason we would lose Obe to GaSo is if he had well established relationships with coaches and maybe some players.
I get that GaSo has tradtion, 6 Nat'l Titles etc... But Statesboro is a dump and while their fans online beat their chest, they set an attendance record at 24K for the Thursday night game vs. App last year while we had a down year averaging 24K.
It's impossible for me to be completely objective but I would say the facilities, culture and scenery in Boone and the overall brand for App State is stronger than anything in Statesboro.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Sure is. Just wanted to say that I know another site is reporting two commits but is waiting for the players to announce. I will not put up anything until it's reported by someone other than recruits. I'm sure the info is probably correct but, as I've stated before, we all got burned last year when DB Calvin Smith announced he had committed. Everybody jumped on it and it wasn't an accepted commit. I know that some love to be first with info. That's fine with me. I would rather be accurate than first.

And to the above post, a recruit from this weekend is tweeting he has committed. I'm moving it but will post it here when it's confirmed.

That's the whole point. The site is not saying which. I have a good idea who but it's not official yet. I won't put info up that's unconfirmed. A little patience. We'll know soon enough.Yosef10 wrote:Well could you at least day which 2 recruits and what site? Little help here...firemoose wrote:Sure is. Re: Recruiting, 2015
Guys, It's important that we are patient in announcing commits, especially today. An inaccurate announcement could cost us dearly. Let's let Firemoose do the digging and the announcing. We'll be glad later.

And besides, any recruit that visits us and then chooses The Stink will regret not coming to the Mountains instead of thinking that water down there is beach front property....

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Here is what I can say for the moment. I know of two commits and an additional one possible. Exit meetings are still going on. In speaking with Mike and Brian this morning they have been asked not to put them up quite yet as one wants to make an announcement himself and the other, while I'm sure some have seen a post from him, members want to speak with one of our commits before making the announcement. I'm going to abide by this request also. I will post this info in the thread soon.
Additional information. OL Tarrick Thomas has decommitted from FAU. He has not committed to App but plans to make a decision in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed.
Second, DL Darnell Thompson picked up an offer from Colorado State. We'll see where this goes and if he chooses to visit there this coming weekend.
As I said earlier the poaching will pick up from today through Thursday especially. We have a LONG week left. I will post these commits in the thread ASAP.
I know you are frustrated. Believe me I am more frustrated but this is the way it is and I must do the same as the other sites have been requested. Please forgive me.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Commit #15:
LB Anthony Flory (6′ 2″ 225) of American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL has offered his verbal commit to App. I have moved his player page to the Commits section on the Main Page. He made FL 5A All State and recorded 110 tackles with 11.5 TFL and 3 Sacks. He committed to App over offers from Cincinnati and Western Michigan. He is listed as a Rivals 2 star but hasn't been rated by 24/7 or Scout yet.
More to follow.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
I'm optimistic Thomas decommitted to FAU, he would be a very nice get at OL.
I have a good feeling we are going to be very excited how this class rounds out.

I am too. No doubt it's a big decision and he needs to discuss it with family and friends.Saint3333 wrote:I'm optimistic Thomas decommitted to FAU, he would be a very nice get at OL.

It's going to be a LONG week and hopefully we can hold on to all of our commits but I feel we've brought in some quality players just in case. Just hope we don't have any decoms in the last day or so just to allow us time to find our new commit(s). Quite period is next Sunday and dead period next Monday through Thursday with signing day Wednesday. If we do loose a commit got to hope it's before the weekend.
Looks like Thompson is taking an OV to Colorado St this weekend so that's one that will come down to signing day. Adams probably also. We'll see on the rest of the offers hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday.
