A serious football school would have fired someone today. Anybody. Yesterday was a complete failure by every single coach and player. Accountability is gone
Which school, with a first year staff, has fired coaches in the first season after a bad loss? I am genuinely curious for some examples
I don’t think anyone really expects an actual firing. Mostly just blowing off steam. But the ass kickings are troubling
No I would really expect the weakest link to be fired.

And to me it’s S&C. And it’s not his first year.

This may not the appropriate place to ask this question, but how many major contributetors have we lost in the portal? Joey and Nate Noel, but how long is the list?

Did DL do a post game interview? Can't find it.

Injuries are troubling, the way we are completely dominated in the trenches, we are slow, we can’t tackle

Yes and you would have just thought we lost with a respectable score. He did not seem to care

McLeod, Nate Johnson. Center for OU that had dad issues.
Castle!!
Those are probably the biggest names.
Joey would have struggled with this team this year- similar to last year.

You’re right though…just like coaching. If we don’t have guys transferring up, we aren’t winning-not a good sign.

Wish we had some media presence that would ask questions like:

- what were you thinking on the fake punt
- why did you stay with an obviously injured Swann
- TOP really hindered a defense that performed ok to start, was that discussed in the game plan during the week?
- Which areas of the game would you say this team has improved in?

Put those questions in the live stream of tomorrow's press conference and see if they get asked. Those are all legit and good questions.

I am not expecting any either. The poster made an assertion as this happens all the time at a "serious football school".. simple question...who has? I have not even inquired who he/she thinks should be fired at App. St...just a genuine question about where this happens at other "serious football schools"..I just have not seen it. Nothing more or less to the question.

I will not be surprised if there are some changes in the off-season...and I would prefer the hiring of an OC. In my personal opinion, I think an offensively minded or defensively minded HC should not be calling plays. I think, by not calling plays allows , them to see the big picture of what is happening in the game. Being caught up in the decision making of each play sometimes does not allow the HC to see bigger picture. Make critical calls from time to time...but not many of them. I, myself, was a little surprised we did not hire an OC.

Taylor Lamb makes $260k.

Could we afford him at OC? Or is that too risky as he would seem to be the heir apparent next HC?

Last year alone 4, 2, 14 and two offensive lineman and two defensive lineman. Just quick memory reflection ..no research. Could be more...Given "quality" of the D last year, not sure any others would have gotten offers.

We’ve got an App Alumni letterman in the coaching ranks in Charlotte area.

He’s 100-10 as a Head coach. 3 state titles.
Just beat a team 63-0 in playoffs.

Might be worth a call for an assistant role.

JMU is who we used to be.
Cignetti was their Satterfield and left.
Chesney is their Drink and will leave.

We will see if they get their next hire right. My guess is, yes.
I am now envious of them.

I'm convinced that either he has no clue or just doesn't care. Probably both. A lot to prove in the last two games (our goals are still ahead for us, ha), but once again, I don't believe he really cares.

What are the odds we see a clean break with Dowell? Looking at him with Chesney last night, with his kid on the sideline, and the post game presser, he certainly looks checked out.

I realize he would be leaving money on the table probably.

Don't you think that might be the worst possible outcome?
