40-24 is nice until you realize just a pedestrian 17-17 against the FBS in his last 3 seasons. I’d be curious to hear what your “top tier guys” list would be?DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 12:09 pmCasey Woods is in the mix... comes highly recommended from Drink -- Satt recommended Neal Brown.
One P5 coordinator after digging into told his agent no thanks.
Either a fall back guy (Brown) -- Brown is awaiting what goes on at WKU.
A first timer (Woods)
OR a 1-AA move up the chain guys
This search will eventually pivot in another direction.
When you Fire an alum that was 40-24 isn't going to get you the top tier guys -- pecking order on who will want this job will fall down the train.
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Perhaps I miscounted but think it was 16-17, point still remains. Prior to him being hired, we’d lost a total of 12 games in 5 years. He was almost doing that in 2 yearsYosef10 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 4:28 pm40-24 is nice until you realize just a pedestrian 17-17 against the FBS in his last 3 seasons. And people talking about App not getting “top tier” candidates need to realize this. The days of P4/P5 coordinators leaving those jobs to go be head coaches at G5 programs are just about over. At least coordinators at a certain level of program in the P4.

Hmm, and the plot continues to thicken. Man I hope that my interpretation of your inference is right. I really don't want Brown.

Would this be someone that has already been mentioned in a couple of places but not actually on the official list until now...or a completely new name we haven't thought of?

That early deficit and high number of penalties that game were a sign.
But yes, agree on the 2019 game being a harbinger.

I'm sold now. You are 34 and he is 33. What more proof does one need?ericsaid wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 12:38 pmI don't even care. I want Tre Lamb. He's 34, I'm 33. He get's it, I get it. Any coach that wouldn't want to come here because we fired a coach who was sliding down the mountain into mediocrity is no coach I want leading the program, and frankly, I'd question their ability to lead a McDonalds fryer line if that's their mindset.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 12:09 pmCasey Woods is in the mix... comes highly recommended from Drink -- Satt recommended Neal Brown.

That's exactly what I'll be doing though so I may as well add this to my profile. Texas State hired GJ Kinne and it worked out for them, quickly. App is starting from a much higher point of reference than Texas State was.
If DG hasn't already hired Brown, hire Lamb.

You got that backwards. Lamb is 34. Eric is "Tre Tre"AppDub wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 5:10 pmI'm sold now. You are 34 and he is 33. Well Bill Bilichek is interviewing with the Tarheels so why can’t we bring a senior citizen up to Boone as well?

It's true guys. Doug Gillin will have to give up and coach the team himself. No coach would ever step into a snakepit that expects him to be able to (checks notes) make a bowl game in the Sun Belt.
