We do have to give the students a decent amount of time to move the cars so if 8:30 is the time to roll in then that's ok with me. Plenty of time to torp a few after.....Also I think Miami stood its ground a bit more than App did. I'm not sure we got asked.

After we win, nobody's going to care about the one hour post game limit. It's gonna be a big party well into the night.

We should just serve alcohol stadium wide!Gonzo wrote:The default is no earlier than 9 a.m. also unless otherwise announced./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:Yosef10 wrote:You also aren't supposed to drink at your tailgate more than 3.5 hours before the game begins (830 a.m.). Not sure when they will open the lots for tailgating. It's been awhile since I've attended a noon game. If they don't open the lots until 8, then this policy won't be an issue. I hope they have more sense than to only allow 4 hours pre game. Especially if they want the stadium packed at kickoff.
I hope others will join me in emailing Gillin and requesting more time. I don't think 5 a.m. is unreasonable.
I might also take the opportunity to lobby for a general extension of the time for alcohol consumption to 4-5 hours prior to kick off.

FWIW, North Dakota State at Iowa is the other Noon ET game that will be opposite our game on ESPN or ESPN2. Network selection will be the week of the game.
We have a good chance of Lee Corso putting on a mascot head, then seconds later viewers will be looking live at KBS and Boone.
Temple at Penn State will be on the Big Ten Network at the same time we're on ESPN/2.

Well being on a fixed income, I will not attend the Miami game. But until you have walked in my shoes please don't judge. Some of you will say that it's 3 months away. But 60 bucks a pop for two tickets, a Motel room at game day rates. That would cause the dreaded there is too much Month left at the end of the Money. But I will loud and proud, yelling my lungs out here from the teepee. Now if I hit the pch big payout on June 30 I will be singing a different tune.

Yep you are probably right. We told ESPN that either they did it our way or we will not let them televise the game. I heard the next day they sent us flowers with a note of apology. I also heard Miami is sending us a gift basket.ASUMountaineer wrote:Big C is never wrong. If he says that's what happened, then that's what happened. No need to explain yourself. It's your life, your money, your business. Enjoy watching App on ESPN.appfan83 wrote:Well being on a fixed income, I will not attend the Miami game. I've been in those shoes my fellow Mountaineer. Like East Hall said, enjoy from home, and screw anyone on here that judges someone on their financial situation.appfan83 wrote:Well being on a fixed income, I will not attend the Miami game. Noon just makes it harder for me to make it. If it was late I could probably get by with it. Youngest son's 1st bday that day.
Yes I begged for a tailgate bday party.

Not on a fixed income here...well at least yet. But I respond to many that are on one. I also have a special needs 5 year old and I say special cause mainly he is very special to me. Anyway, no judgement over here either. Enjoy the game on tv and enjoy the game(s) you are able to make./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:I've been in those shoes my fellow Mountaineer. Fixed Income/special needs/personal financial considerations/personal or work considerations/distance - all well and good, and that is why we want all our games on ESPN or other national feeds so we can ALL enjoy our Apps no matter what our personal commitments may be on game day.

No one has to justify or make excuses not to be there. We all know that anyone who is on this board would be there if they could. There are things more important than a football game....so I've been told. Seriously though, not necessary to explain.

Same here, appfan83. No way I can afford $180 total for three as well as a motel room and food. ESPN is my friend.appfan83 wrote:Well being on a fixed income, I will not attend the Miami game. Rek, where do the students move their cars to? Is there enough parking in town?Rekdiver wrote:We do have to give the students a decent amount of time to move the cars so if 8:30 is the time to roll in then that's ok with me. In other words, many of them go home for the weekend.AppDawg wrote:The same places they do for every home game....NewApp wrote:Rek, where do the students move their cars to? I dare say many won't go home for this particular weekend (unless they are just athletics hating zealots). This is why this game is a huge opportunity for the university to put on a good show (win or lose). May entice more App students to hang around on some Sun Belt weekends and not go to games at State/Carolina/Clemson.

Well I am going to judge. My verdict is that you are making a wise decision based on your circumstances. I hope all your neighbors will hear you. That is unless you hit the big payout and I hope you do.appfan83 wrote:Well being on a fixed income, I will not attend the Miami game. But until you have walked in my shoes please don't judge. Our student attendance (typically >50%) is among the best in the FBS.
I'm not sure what the hell y'all are talking about.
