Reminds me of the President of our local community college running his bicycle into a moving automobile...drunk as a coot. He was charged with a DUI. To top it off he was going to see his girlfriend. His wife had a fit.

"Oh we're comparing past records? Let's finish it then....6>3."
Okay let's finish it, 15-12-1, now we're finished.

Guess I'm a little nostalgic but I'm glad you goat humpers are moving up with us. Its a good rivalry that should only get better. However, if you spray water on that rug of a field like you did in 87 and let it ice over, I'm coming up there and reporting yall to PETA. They will take all your goats so don't test me.
Interesting note from 87: The App State fans were taunting us and throwing stuff at our bus as we were leaving and my English Literature Professor, an older, quiet lady that was pretty soft spoken, let her window down and hollered back at you fans in a loud redneck drawl, "I don't see two F'ing NC rings on your fingers you inbred MFers" The whole bus got silent, then roared with laughter. It made the butt hurt trip home a little better.

No doubt that Ga. Southern played "follow the leader" in their process to go FBS. I am glad it all worked out.

Wow that is really something to be proud of. It made a bunch of idiots who were throwing things at your bus look a little smarter than their target, and that should have been impossible to do.oldfart wrote:AppState89 wrote:I was there as a student and love it......I remember the big "FIGHT" between GSU and ASU students on the hill as GSU put ASU sucks in the snow....oldfart wrote:Neither really but I am old enough to remember the holiday on ice playoff game in '87- the first time we met in modern GS history. This is the most entertaining thread I've read in a long time. With our two schools, The Sun Belt won't know what hit them, even if it's only the southern humor.

Is there any video or photos of this game? This was before my time as an App Fan (I was only 5) but is a legend I have always heard about.SpiritCymbal wrote:Was there too.
