We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Or perhaps we are better than NCSU. Their defense looked ill-prepared. McCall was hit or miss, nothing unusual there. Time will tell.

To be fair, they lost their middle LB in the first series to targeting.appstatealum wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 12:48 pmOr perhaps we are better than NCSU. Their defense looked ill-prepared. McCall was hit or miss, nothing unusual there. Time will tell.

That should have an impact when facing a top tier G5 or a P4 team but should not have had a huge effect against Western Carolina. NC State is suppose to have better players across the board on the entire two-deep. That was not the case and Western showed they have a few guys who could definitely play in the ACC though. I saw a few for Western that I would take at App. I would love to get that Western QB in Boone next year. He is a pretty good one. If they stay healthy I think Bell could lead them to a huge season. That offense should put up a lot of points.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 12:49 pmTo be fair, they lost their middle LB in the first series to targeting.appstatealum wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 12:48 pmOr perhaps we are better than NCSU. To suggest that it shouldn’t is fair. To say that it didn’t is unfair. I’m not going to get in a debate with you on this because neither of us actually know what impact the ejection had on the gameplan, depth or scheme. I just pointed out the the starting MLB went out very early.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 12:57 pmThat should have an impact when facing a top tier G5 or a P4 team but should not have had a huge effect against Western Carolina. Re: Official Linville River Railway prediction thread
Yes that is what I was saying. It should not have but it did and thus it looked bad for them. I definitely think it had some impact but they also did not tackle well either. I don't know if you saw the entire game but it felt like to me that WCU simply ran out of gas. I also did not think McCall was sharp enough to expect him to be an impact player in the ACC unless he improves heavily over the next couple games for their ACC opener.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:09 pmTo suggest that it shouldn’t is fair. PB Scotts better than Seahorse definitely ! However, Seahorse made those red and green Eels Tails that would knock you on your keister.goapps wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 3:40 pmI absolutely remember them and by the way:

Re: Official Linville River Railway prediction thread
Lamb has said he plans to use a lot of trick plays and throw everything they got at us to hopefully make the game close heading into the 4th quarter to put pressure on us. We really need to put them away before that so we can make sure our starters aren't worn out, get some experience for backups, and not show much for Clemson to see on film.

Re: Official Linville River Railway prediction thread
Always interesting to scan through the predictions especially games against FCS teams we should easily handle and see folks predicting us to allow 21+ points. For those who predict this is it a matter of not believing in what should be a solid defense, first game rust or genuinely thinking (in this case) that ETSU is good enough to score that much? I went with a 45-10 game with one of those deals where we give up an easy score then tighten up and cruise. Hope I’m right and some of you are drunk!

Re: Official Linville River Railway prediction thread
We seem to always give up points the first drive while figuring out adjustments. Also, our defense is predicated on allowing stuff between the 20s and tightening down inside the red zone so you are going to be subject to some scoring opportunities.

Could have something to do with the same coach and most of the team from last year’s first game scoring 24.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 6:19 amAlways interesting to scan through the predictions especially games against FCS teams we should easily handle and see folks predicting us to allow 21+ points. Pretty damn close, we're a DEF TD better than I thought. We win next week.app_gorilla wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 10:42 pmWe may have a special team this year. This one is somewhat close only because we want to show as little as possible before Clemson.

Re: Official Linville River Railway prediction thread
I think we catch the best shot Clemson has, they got punked and will want to redeem themselves. Dabo's seat is probably warm for not adapting with the new flow of college football. It's going to be very, very tough to win in Death Valley, we still have plenty to improve from what I saw today. Georgia showed they are a $20,000,000+ NIL team. I'd say Clemson will be a 2-td favorite on September 7thapp_gorilla wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 7:23 pmPretty damn close, we're a DEF TD better than I thought.
