But, are these disgruntled parents as little Johnny did not get playing time, certain number of catches, etc.
I only know what I viewed on TV. 60+ players showed up and appeared to give their all for 60 minutes.
And how many didn't show up? Everyone for Ga Southern was there, we were down almost 30. Perhaps it is a bunch of guys hoping not to get hurt so they can transfer, and perhaps it is a bunch of guys the coach ran off before the bowl was announce and didn't want to play, perhaps it is a bunch who don't like the coach, and perhaps it is a combination of all of that (most likely). But to dismiss the thought that many players are transferring based simply on the fact that we had enough guys to play the game seems short sighted to me. We can dismiss all the parent comments we want, but they aren't being made in a vacuum, there is a reason we are seeing them even if we don't know the real reason for it.
Hmmm. I wonder why that was. We had already went through exit interviews and players were told directly or indirectly that App. St. may not be the right place for them. Since Stink was bowl eligible, they had not completed exit interviews. Typically when there is a change in regime...whether college football or in corporate life, you see a higher rate of turnover as "the new leader is not the old leader I liked"...or new leader.has had time to evaluate a player, employee and concluded that ABC University, Company may not be right for them.
I may be wrong or misremembering. Didn't Chesney have quite a few transfers this year with being his second year.
Not sure what your social media experiences have been, mine have been that most people that post online complain or are malcontents as they did not get what they wanted or thought they should get. The good news of adoring compliments are few and far between on social media . Maybe just my observation. Billy Wiles has rode the pine at App. St. since he has been at App. I am sure his dad is not happy about that. The others, maybe legit, who knows. The GameDay thread on YC is a great example of social media overall IMO. The amount of negative commentary on those threads...well, let's just say it is a plethora.
DLo may be a great guy, Ahole. Couldn't tell you. Never met him.

The current Ole Miss QB who is vying for a chip played 3 seasons at a D2 college. There is quality talent at the D2 and FCS level and I hope we consider those areas more instead of trying to grab disgruntled P4 bench players.

I have no problem picking up the right P4 but yes there is talent at the lower levels we should be paying attention to.

I think the emphasis on P4 transfers is easy to understand but misguided. The coaches have been looking for the home run but we don't have a line-up that is getting on base. We've had a few good ones, but I absolutely think that FCS is where we should focus on building Guys with starting experience and tape to watch. App is a step up for these players and they are less motivated by pure dollars. App can offer a chance at the NFL that they might not have.

I will wait and see what next year brings. I'm not down on DLo because, I do think he stepped into a very tough situation. After game #1, I was excited because we looked more prepared than I expected. I don't think most of us realized exactly HOW bad Charlotte was. I was definitely disappointed in the season from both players and coaches. I do expect 2026 to show marked improvement or I think we will be looking for another coach. Just my uninformed opinion, of course. This is his mulligan year. Le'ts make it count.

P.S I HATE this portal stuff!

It starts and stops up front. Injuries along the OL derailed our offense this year and we haven't had a dominate DL since our last conference championship. Best recruiting class up front we've had in a long time. Need to find a few more in the Portal.
