A month ago this would have been a very good pick up. Now, this is a huge addition. Welcome to Boone Mr. Ford!

Ford will be an early enrollee as well correct? He is a huge addition to this program. Giving us quality depth in our secondary.

Ford (signing today), McGuire, Howard, Stringer, and Caruso will all be enrolling in January. It'll be great to get them all here and into spring ball. Just adds that little jump start to get them used to App and the staff.

DB Jordan Ford has signed and faxed in his NLI. I've moved him to the Signed section on the Main Page. We now have two NLI's, two FAA's, and one early enrollee with the class standing at 23 as of today. On with the grind.

As has already been noted OL Tobias Edge-Campbell is also an early enrollee. That's six for the 2014 class now. I have updated the Main Page. Sorry I couldn't post it sooner but about the time I found out this morning my internet went bye-bye. Getting pretty old when I'm trying to keep up with all this but hopefully Charter will get this fixed one day.

I tried to say that last line with a straight face but couldn't.

So, priorities now should be?

1. Harley
2. Eaton
3. Rollins or Herrod
4. Walton
5. Keeping Canty

That's pretty much correct. Based on what I'm hearing and seeing I think you could put Walton and Eaton as a tie. The staff is pushing for Walton hard and we have to get at least one tall WR in this class. We won't know on Canty until possibly Jan 31st of Feb 1st. Eaton is looking good as of now (he posted a pic of him working out in an App skull cap). Haralson dropped off last night, according to his twitter, and not by his choice or the staff. I believe I know why but I'll let people decide. Meadors is also high on the board. He may not be 6' 4"+ but they staff loves him.

As for RB they want to get two if possible. Boyd is a great player and hopefully we can keep him. He's good enough to pick up a closer BCS offer than Washington St. should a team not get their targets. More then a few nails will be bitten in the next 48 days. Harrod and Rollins are wild cards right now. Rollins was close to committing until the Arkansas St. HC went to Boise. Appears he's leaning that way now. And no one knows what Harrod is thinking. I just know he's still taking a visit here on Jan 17th but that's it. Expect this to be the next area where late offers go out depending on what happens.

I also believe they are still looking for a NT. Be it Stewart or someone else, JUCO or HS. It's not as high up the list as some would like but, admit it or not, we were starting to develop a good rotation with Small, Burns, and Milhouse before Small got hurt. Once we moved Fernandez and the lightbulb went off for Burns and Milhouse they did well to finish the season. Small returns to 100% and we can take a HS player. Of course they would love a bulldozer JUCO but there are only so many and, try as we might, nothing can make someone commit.

Basically only the 6 are close to safe right now. Of the remaining 17 my personal list says 4 are very strong, 6 are strong, 4 are ok for now, and 3 are waiting. But one offer could change anything. Gray hairs a plenty for a month and a half.

Yes. I mentioned it in the first paragraph in the post above. He later says it's not by choice but his fault in a reply to another question. Since App started sending out acceptance notices yesterday and he posted that less than a hour later people can decide what the reason might be.

In other news, LeGrande Harley is expected to make an announcement today, very soon from all reports. Toss up right now.

USF Scout board seems to have some kind of new development on Harley but no way of telling what it is. Guessing it's his commitment

Here are the posts everyone is talking about. I think the development is that he's choosing today, which would be a new development since he's said in the past he would not announce until at least the end of Jan. Here are the posts.

1st:
Corey Bender ‏@CoreyBender734
ICYMI: A new development in the recruitment of #USF target LeGrande Harley I was notified of. It can be seen here

2nd:
Corey Bender ‏@CoreyBender734
ICYMI: LeGrande Harley Commitment Watch: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=359&f=3939&t=12495974 …. The 6-foot-1, 230-pound LB will choose #USF, #WMU or Appalachian St. today

Moose,

Now that I've settled down after the Huge Letdown announcement yesterday I finally read the article in detail. The article states that our JUCO's will each have 2 years to play. I was under the impression that Ford actually has 3 years to play. Can you can confirm this? I'm hoping it was an oversight by our SID department.

As far as I know it's an oversight. Ford himself said he was granted a medical and would have three years at his next school. And every other post I've seen says the same thing.
I went back and found the original post.

My medical redshirt got granted! Thank you Lord. 3 years at the next school. #Blessing

Yeah, it looks more like the "new development" is that Harley is making his choice today. Come one up the mountain!!

Interesting article. I seem to remember a good number of fans saying we wouldn't get any better talent by going to the Sun Belt. They cited the ability to play for National Championships, and their belief that the Sun Belt was not a step up from the SoCon/FCS. So much for that theory.

Satterfield's comments on recruiting during the NC's are very interesting. I wonder how that would work out if the new FBS Playoff ever expanded to 16? It obviously hurt us in some areas as we have all discussed in the past.
