App averaged over 400 ypg, 270 in the air.

Must not have been predictable to the opponents.
Was certainly predictable to Montana, A&T, Samford and most of the other 5 teams we lost to last year.

Let me know if you need help finding the ignore button. 8-)
While the less than 24 ppg on offense was not a stellar output, I'd look more towards the youth on defense combined with a new scheme that gave up 28 ppg as a bigger reason to some of those losses. The average YPG was pretty decent but this offense has got to score TD's when they get into the redzone. The D needs to get off the field more often than not when staring at 3rd and 6+ yards to go. Last season I felt more confident in the defense on 3rd and short as compared to 3rd and long. It was so frustrating watching the D give up all those 3rd and longs only to watch the chains keep moving.

The run game is a much larger problem than the passing game for those that were paying attention last year.

I agree about the defense, our opponents 3rd and 6+ conversation % had to be the highest in the conference. The SBC is a very pass happy league our DBs will be tested heavily and we can't rely on poor passes at the next level.

Not ask them the way I wrote them....But I would have asked this question that sums up all three.

"Coach, with the recent player troubles highlighted at the the "u" how do the staffs at the schools you've been with address these issues with the young men?"
cool

Our opponents 3rd and long success last year was directly attributable to a lack of any pass rush. I agree we need to fix this for the 2014 season.

My guess is that you'd get an answer like this, "I can't really speak about the issues with Miami, but our schools have always approached each issue separately and waited to gather ALL of the facts before making a decision."

No, it doesn't. I forgot it was there.
