We’re playing Robert Morris because the Colonials are the only team in the country willing to play us in Boone on this date. They’re filling the out-of-conference spot vacated by Marshall when the Herd joined the Sun Belt less than a year ago. We’re fortunate to be playing football on Oct. 29.
The contract for the Robert Morris game was only finalized March 3, two days after the schedule was announced.

It is what it is, but what it also is, is a home football game.
They play or are playing A&T today and I noticed it was on ESPN+ if you desire a preview. They are winless going into today's game based on the article in the News and Record and likely to be winless when they visit Boone.
They are pathetic to say the least.

A&T up 30-0 at half and has close to 400 yards already. We get that there weren't many options available but boy next Saturday is gonna be ugly fast.

RMU has a stadium like Davidson it seems. Stands on one side only.

They got beat good by a bad team. This is a no win for us. If we don't beat them by 70 zip we will be a laughing stock, and if we do beat them by 70 zip we look like bullies abusing a high school team.

Play 'em and beat 'em bad and let everyone see the field or have 11 games and 6 home games. I hate it for RMU in a way but it is not like we had lots of options and tried to avoid this but other schools would not work with us.

All we can do is make the best of a bad situation and enjoy the day in Boone and hope Cam gets plenty of yards.

RMU chose to play us and I'm sure they're getting paid which they need for their budget. It also gives their players a chance to play in a big time college atmosphere that they can strive to achieve themselves since we came out of FCS fairly recently. So, no need to feel pity for them, this was their choice.
I'm sure everyone wearing the Black & Gold Saturday will get a chance to play which will be the mercy move once the game is truly in hand.

No way in hell Robert Morris can even come close to beating us. Yes, they are an FCS team, but they are horrible. I promise we would beat them with our 3rd string players in the game. You will see one at running back and QB next Saturday and hope to see several of our WRs too. Starters have no business playing after the first quarter. Just can't take a chance for an injury against this team.
Yosef's Cabin could beat Robert Morris, the problem is we'd be arguing who of us would be our coach based on all the knowledge we spew.
Clearly...I would be head coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, unless it's a one score game (which it won't be), I don't think that anyone outside of Boone cares one way or another. It's like an exhibition game in college basketball. Just get the W, get some work in, and let the reserves get some time on the field.

Whenever Alabama plays Western Carolina, it doesn't really register on the meter. I'd rather have the Sun Belt at full strength this year and have Robert Morris on the schedule, than have taken the C-USA/AAC lame duck route. Look at the media and quality of games in the new Sun Belt. If we had to make a small sacrifice to be a part of the process, so be it.

starters don't need to be in there long. Take care of business and get ready for a big game next wednesday. Keep the boys healthy until then.

It is a Thursday.

Was hoping to go down there this year until I realized it was a weekday game.

Not that we aren't a 100% chance to win but,

I'll bet Michigan and A&M fans said similar to this too.

Yep, stranger things have happened. I was just providing another point of view for those that were already feeling bad for RMU and wished we weren't playing them.
My point was they chose to play us, nobody is forcing them and there are actually benefits for them.
