Note to Coastal Hens and Lafayette Thugs… the best team in the Sun Belt is the one that did not get ranked. Be very afraid.
I had very similar thoughts, and will add the best QB in the conference didn’t get any preseason accolades. I saw a better team on both sides of the ball than our 2019 team play last night, not leaving anyone out but taken to a higher plane by a QB that is a legitimately accurate passer that can stretch the field with his arm. One game in the books, and I know there is a lot of football to play, but I’d wager it’s our championship to lose.
I think we’ll show better in Miami than I thinking before our solid performance last night.
I’m stoked with how Brice looked but saying he’s better than McCall and Lewis right now is just absolutely absurd. We really do not have to do this.

Well he did fail to see a wide open Hennigan on a blown coverage....

Why did the ND transfer not play before Castle?

Had that on my left foot (big toe area), hurts big time. My "system" wasn't removing uric acid adequately. I got it under control by limiting my intake of certain food, like tomatoes, tuna, etc. Lite beer vice high test too, LOL. And most importantly, two table spoons of apple cider vinegar mixed with apple cider every evening, not had an attack since. Home remedies definitely fixed the situation.

It sounded like he said a little “bout” with his big toe. Either way, excited to see him when he takes the field. We have a lot of talent in that back field.

A little apple cider vinegar will do the trick, believe me.

Has the status of Stu Head been mentioned? I noticed that he was not dressed Thursday night. It seems like he should be helpful in the secondary with Kaiden Smith out. Also, I saw Kaiden in a red shirt with a headset, I suppose as a student coach for the secondary. Did he have a career ending injury that I’m not aware of or is he opting to be a student coach?

So, I seem to recall mid-season, maybe 2016, that we used a 2 back set with Jalin Moore and Marcus Cox and it was effective IIRC. Noel and Peoples both in the backfield would be a beautiful intimidating thing...what do you think Coach Ponce?

I heard Clark talking before the season started and he mentioned that we could see some 2 back sets with Peoples and Noel this season

That'd be awesome. Also, speaking of Coach Clark, I loved the way he personally took responsibility for the end zone interception. A class act for sure.

Coach Clark is growing as aHC, and there are areas of improvement (as with every coach not named Saban). But Clark has attributes that are very hard to "learn". First; all successes are attributed to the players and assistants none of the "glory" is his while he takes ownership of failures and mistakes. Second; he genuinely believes winning is secondary to the development of the young men on and off the field, the later leads to the former. Third; the program is bigger than him and the current roster/staff. Fourth; he believes in what he says, it's not hot air or coach speak. For example go and listen to his post game and then listen to the players post game and you will hear things coming from our team leaders that you've heard coach Clark say, such as "we were just focused on 1-0 this week, stats are irrelevant" . D'marco said something in his that immediately triggered in me that this is a trickle down from how Coach acts; he was talking about the environment of having fans in the stands again and he said "fans" then stopped and rephrased to say no "our supporters, they are more than fans" and reiterated "supporters" later in the interview. Or how about Cam talking about how 9-3 for App is not good enough, that we play for championships and bowl wins anything else is a let down.

This team has embodied Coach Clark, who himself is Black and Gold all the way through. He is not perfect but he is who we need leading our team right now and for the foreseeable future!

Call me what you want. I’ve never been impressed by Lewis, and Brice has a better arm than McCall as well, but isn’t as mobile. doesn’t have to be for us to win the conference, with our backs and receivers. Mark this post.

I completely agree on Lewis, he just isn't that good of a qb and I never have understood the hype. We shall see about McCall now that defenses know his game.

The voiceover was too weak and too flat on the video, otherwise a good production. Our players on the field did well, they let off the gas too early in the the 4th quarter.

Was at the game, left so pumped and still am. I will say, after watching the replay when I got home, I was a little less impressed (just a little). Aided by a few 50/50 calls, letting off the gas a little early, and some dumb plays on ecu’s part, we won by 14. I know we didn’t want to show our hand, but an in state rival, national TV, I think you try to win by 20+. While I was not concerned about the W, it would have been nice to lay it on a little.

As a fan, I understand the sentiment about letting off the gas early and try to win by 20. That isn’t how the coaches see it. It was pretty obvious early into the second quarter that this game was ours to lose. We were able to do pretty much what we wanted. So while they weren’t trying to keep it close, it wasn’t close. We left some points on the field and it would have looked better if we had scored touchdowns, but at some point in the game, especially the first game, you start putting new guys in and work on your base stuff in live action. Wins are what matter to coaches because they are hard to come by. Win where you can and the rest takes care of itself.

I watched a good bit of La v UT. Texas is probably fairly good but I wager below Miami (we will see). I saw zero of CCU v The Citadel but I also wager that we probably beat those Dogs pretty handily. ECU will be ok and is probably a .500 program if they clean some stuff up. To compare Brice to those other 2 guys right now is pointless. I think App might be pretty damn good and could have beaten ECU worse but a thorough win is fine with me. We are going to have a couple of really exciting games and our potential is unlimited.

We shall see how he operates without the reliable CJ Marable.
