I wonder what he meant when he said Coach Moore would always be welcome there as long as he was HC? Did anyone else interpret that as if Drink or someone else discouraged it?asu7 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 6:17 pmThe coach Moore part got me not gonna lie.NavyApp wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 6:14 pmAnother thing that got me: when Shawn looked directly in the camera and said something to the effect of "to my teammates; I am going to get in touch with you". It just speaks volumes about him, he knows this isn't about him it's about us. And man alive does he think something of Coach Moore?

Clark isn't the polished public speaker that some others might be, so what comes across in that presser is absolutely genuine emotion. I loved seeing how absolutely happy and grateful he is to have this opportunity. I believe he is absolutely the right man for Appalachian football right now. We have a talented roster and he is the kind of man that will pull the absolute best from them. His passion is contagious and we are going to benefit...at least I believe that's how it's going to play out. Congratulations, Coach Clark! We are proud that you are our new HC!

There was fairly significant bad blood between Coach Moore and the previous athletic administration after his separation from the program. DG has, as I understand it, worked to mend that fence. I have not heard that Drink disallowed Coach Moore from being around the program, and I doubt he would have gotten away with that, but others can likely confirm. The Rock wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 6:36 amI wonder what he meant when he said Coach Moore would always be welcome there as long as he was HC? He is proud and honored to be the new coach. There is obviously something to him when even the press is on board as soon as the job came open.

That is right as far as former administration. As far as this past year goes, Drink wasn't against having Moore around, but Drink's personality probably wasn't all that conducive to making Moore feel comfortable coming around.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 7:31 amThere was fairly significant bad blood between Coach Moore and the previous athletic administration after his separation from the program. We got the right guy. I dunno if we go undefeated but we got the right guy to lead our guys not just on the football field but in life. The latter is more important.

After watching the presser, my wife and I looked at each other and we were both like...OK, now that's a football coach!
I never had a problem with Drink but he was a little too much on the polished, robotic side...really glad to have one of our own who came up under Coach Moore's tutelage at the helm.
