If he lands at WCU, then I will admit they got another second rate coach, just like Brad Glenn and most of the others that jumped ship.
If my memory serves me well, this poster very well may be Coach Blalock's father in law. I can't remember the exact coach that married this posters daughter but from the post I feel certain it is Blalock. Could be wrong but that is my recollection.

Talk about a conflict of interest.

I believe that players, coaches and relatives of players and coaches come to this board at their own risk.
More likely than not at some point they might get their feelings hurt.
If he is related to a coach the moment he enters this message board that is his choice and he suffers the consequences. When you sign up to take a position as a coach you are in the public eye of fans and subject to feedback. You are not some accountant crunching numbers in a back office.
At times we praise coaches and at other times we speak our minds. Good or bad. But the posters on this board should not have to live in fear of stepping on the toes of people close to the program. This is a fan message board, not an employee/relative of an employee message board.
They want to hang out and post here that's fine, the more the merry. BUT they best be wearing their big boy pants.

Re: Football Scoop: Coach Blalock not returning/Jones not DC
I meant that to come across as an obvious joke implying that Patrick Blalock (#34) was related to the coach and that's how he kept his spot, so he was coming here now to defend it since he won't be able to rely on that any longer. On a side note, if that is the father in law posting, he just seemed to go with the rumor that Blalock wasn't coming back, so do you suppose it is just a rumor at this point?hapapp wrote:StorminASU wrote:On Saturday's in fall, do you wear a black jersey with #34 on the back? Actually, I do believe wisheasheapp and the coach in question are related. It is a message board and it serves the purpose to discuss all things ASU but we need to be mindful these are real people we are talking about.

Would love to see if Satt can pry Lonnie Galloway away from Wake Forest to be our assistant head coach/offensive coordinator/QB coach.
Having those two guys heading up the offense would be a huge asset to App not only for play calling but also recruiting.
Anyone have any ideas around who would be a good fit on the defensive side of the ball?

Why is it so difficult to make observations or carry on a discourse while observing some basic rules of etiquette? I would think that most folks have been raised with better manners and would never make these kinds of comments if they were standing face to face with a player / coach / family member. Sorry, but claiming that they enter at their own risk is a cop out for people who either lack basic manners or refuse to use them. We enjoy the input and insight we get from these folks and treating them (and other guests as well) with some basic respect is a small price to pay.ASU_MBA wrote:AppGrad78 wrote:Another sad moment for this message board. A fan message board is no place for players, coaches or relatives of such to hang out. Sooner or later they will get their feelings hurt. Not a cop out. It is common sense.Yosef84 wrote:Why is it so difficult to make observations or carry on a discourse while observing some basic rules of etiquette? Take a basic statement on a message board like "Wow, our offensive line sure is bad." If you played on the offensive line or son played on the offensive line or your son-in-law coached the O-line that would upset or piss you off. Would it not? So you do enter this forum at your own risk. Because, like it or not, that is what a message board is for... to share insight, opinions and conversation on the team, coaches, and overall performance. Sometimes we give out lollipops and sometimes we give out lemons.
I would be willing to bet the coaches have a policy preventing players or themselves from posting on these message boards.
Under your logic, fans on this message board can't write anything negative about the team's performance, play of certain positions or coaches because if we did, we would be showing a lack of respect and could hurt the feelings of people involved in the program.
And yes people post things on message boards they would never say in public. That is a fact that is not gonna change. How many people use a real name as a screen name?

The D Coord. at Wofford Nate Woody would be a great coach, guy does the most with the least. D was in the top 20 this year, maybe even the top 15. But he has been there a long time so I doubt he would leave.
Galloway is gonna be pricey. I know at WVU a couple years back he was making in the upper 100s after a 75K raise. Also I would imagine he will get a Head Coaching job soon, if he wants one. App O-Coord would be a downgrade from the WR Coach/Passing Coord. at an ACC school. Probably not the best move resume wise, but I hear he has a house and loves the area.

So funny that very few people would have a problem with what I said had the poster I replied to not been related (supposedly) to coach Blalock.
As soon as others find out that the poster I replied to is coach Blalock's father in law (supposedly) it becomes "how insensitive!" "what's wrong with this message board?".
ASU_MBA couldn't have said it any better by the way.

wiseashe - please know there are some of us who support our coaches and players - I understand there are nuts on every message board but I doubt there is one where the team has won 7 of the last 8 conference championships and some fans want to fire coaches every week - Some understand the hard work and effort which is required to be a coach and understand most work hard, do the best they can and care more whether the team wins or loses more than any fan - I truly hope all works out for your family and please know there are fans out here who understand we are talking about a young man with a family - it's so easy to call for firing people when hiding behind a moniker --- Wishing all the best ---wiseasheapp wrote:Do you even know coach Blalock? Go ahead and take your cat lovin' purple arse over there then. Things happen, decisions have been made but to give your alleigence/loyalty/devotion/support to another university shows your true colors and shows you're not a true App fan!wiseasheapp wrote:Coach Blalock was simply the collateral damage resulting from the demotion of Jones. without a contract, which he had tried to get for a year, he was the sacrificial lamb of a plan put in place by Cobb in 2011. Thanks WVAPPeer for the post. You have made a really bad day a little better. I really believe Coach Blalock will end up somewhere that his abilities will be better utilized. The sad part is that an old grandpa and his granddaughter will be separated by longer distance.
