UVA is definitely another P5 in our footprint that I would like to see APP play. Easy trip to Charlottesville and I don't think that Virginia would be totally opposed to a possible home and home with us.APPdiesel wrote:No way on Rick pulling off the same things! I do like the idea of adjusting the first game of the ECU series up from 2021 to 2019. Don't think we'll get a H&H with South Carolina so I'd love to focus on getting a H&H with another P5. Virginia has 3 open dates in 2019. They need two home games.
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

As an old timer, I watched us beat South Carolina in Columbia in '75, along with a road victory over Wake Forest and a home win over ECU. Still remember the feeling! Unfortunately I think that was the year the Hate Purple cheer was born.

I saw all three "upsets" that year. South Carolina, Wake and EZU. Jerry Harmon who kicked the winning FG in the EZU game was in classes at Watauga High when I substituted there for Dr. Greene's US History course while I was a senior at App.. Last I heard, he was in management with the North Carolina State Employees Credit Union. Surely he has retired by now, however. He was a brilliant and cooperative student.wncapp78 wrote:As an old timer, I watched us beat South Carolina in Columbia in '75, along with a road victory over Wake Forest and a home win over ECU. I saw the Wake Forest and ECU upsets. Am hoping games with Wake will start a nasty Black and Gold rivalry, perhaps called the 90 mile game. I have my seats purchased for when Taylor Lamb and friends will dance all over Wake's head this Fall.
