Re: ECU vs APP
Complaining about ticket prices 5 years out sounds about right for this board. They won't be as expensive as NCSU vs USC. You'll probably be able to get upper deck tickets for 35-50 dollars.

Re: ECU vs APP
I think we're getting ahead of ourselves a little. My understanding is that there's no rent for the stadium itself but there'll have to be some crowd management/security costs covered, and I'd assume concessions are self-supporting... outside of that...wouldn't the ticket prices be set by the schools? We're the designated "home team," so wouldn't it be our administration setting the ticket prices? We're supposed to be getting a large percentage of ticket proceeds but not sure what role the Charlotte Sports Foundation plays in the pricing. Perhaps there's someone "in the know" that could shed some light before we get too worked up 4.5 years out.

If we cant get people to come to this game, we need to stop all discussion about why other conferences or "better bowls" wont send us an invite. I can't believe this discussion is happening this far out.

Re: ECU vs APP
I think I've come up with a plan to please everyone regarding tickets:
Step 1: Wait four years until ticket prices are announced.
Step 2: If your interest in the game and financial situation are such that you are willing and able to purchase tickets, then purchase tickets. If not, then don't.
Step 3: Let everyone else make that same determination for themselves.
Step 4: Enjoy the game.

Re: ECU vs APP
It'll probably be cheaper than that since NC State/SCar are both P5 teams and ECU/App are not. But who cares? We ain't in FCS anymore. The App/Miami tickets on StubHub were twice that price!App91 wrote:Got this off the NC State message board. These are the prices for their game against SCar to open the 2017 season at BOAApp91 wrote:I have real concerns about the price of tickets with these Char. Sports Foundation people. They have a highly inflated value of tickets. I know a couple years back with UNC vs USC the tix were more than a panthers game. $250 for a club level (outside not a box) ticket. That's why you couldnt start a fight in the stands, there wern't 25k people there. I hope that they have learned a lesson, that will not fly with or fanbase and Probably EZU as well. Hopefully, Gillin has his finger on the situation.
Lower sideline $135
Lower end zone $100
Upper level $80
Midfield club $245
Club $200

All that depends on who runs the game. If CSF does it, you can bet these will be the prices. If not then we will see. Would be a good question for DG

Re: ECU vs APP
I doubt it. BofA doesn't work that way. They'd rather see 25,000 sold at high prices than 35,000 sold at reasonable prices. They've proven that time and time again.Yosef10 wrote:Complaining about ticket prices 5 years out sounds about right for this board. They won't be as expensive as NCSU vs USC. I'm planning a bank heist....who wants in? I'll need a getaway driver, crowd control, and someone to be in charge of snacks.

Better hold off. America will be great again by then so these ticket prices wont seem high at all.APPdiesel wrote:I'm planning a bank heist....who wants in? I'll need a getaway driver, crowd control, and someone to be in charge of snacks.

Re: ECU vs APP
How does BofA work then? They're not going to charge the same price for App-ECU as they do for USC-UNC, USC-NCSU, etc. How have they proven that "time and time again" when they've never had two G5 teams play at BOA? I know you're forever the troll but c'mon man. You can also listen to Gillin on Alex and BigCs podcast and he pretty much spells out for you tickets aren't going to be as much as you see for the other P5 games at BOA.NewApp wrote:I doubt it. I usually pay 80 bucks or so for the privilege of entering BOA Stadium.
It ain't the F-ing Crampton bowl. Skip a couple of trips to Golden Corral. Start a saving account. You have five damn years.

Just a guess but I don't think it is the ability to save as much as the willingness to spend.

Re: ECU vs APP
At the prices noted above $80 for upper level, it would be an outrageous .25 a day in the jar for 5 people to attend the game. Twenty five cents a day put aside in a jar. .25 cents.

Re: ECU vs APP
If I've learned nothing else from this thread, I've at least learned that jars are apparently a much more popular financial mechanism than I had realized.
