I have to agree with you, Eric. On pretty much all points. But it’s still early days.ericsaid wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 5:45 pmI said that losing to Charlotte would result in a big hole for DL to dig himself out of. This game, no matter if he wins, dug a huge hole.mountainman33 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 5:42 pmOnside... right. Really? Yeah... :::hysterical laughter::: sure.
Outgaining them on the ground 181 to -1 and you’re up by seven. Seven drops, 8 penalties, 5 turnovers.
Thank god DJ Smith came back or App would lose this game.

Not that it’s likely, but that’s a terrible take. If we go 13-0, we will have wins over Boise, Oregon St. and JMU. That’ll be good enough.

Can we not just kneel and eat the clock? Why risk another turnover.

OK, so I jynxed the team after the CLT win…with all that talk about App finding their rhythm last week. I’m owning it.

I’m not going to start freaking out and saying our season is in danger, but the penalties, the dropped passes, and turnovers are concerning. This defense kept us in this game. We make several corrections on offense and we will have a great season.

I never thought about us making CFP this year. Our guys hopefully realize they are human and will have a different focus going forward. Hats off to defense though.

Some days you're the bug and some days you're the windshield. Today we were the bug yet still won.

Troy is beating Clemson and we are barely hanging on.
Im glad I can only hear this on the radio.

Buy that extra handle of your favorite brand and strap in for a potentially rough season.

Re: Looking Ahead- Lindenwood
Oregon State? Boise who lost by 24 to USF? JMU who just lost Louisville?
I don’t think it would.
At any rate, if this game is a sign and not an anomaly, 3-5 in conference is likely so it doesn’t matter.
That said, the offense ran very few of the same plays they ran last week so I am wondering if they went too vanilla on the offensive game plan this week.

1-0. Whew.
Clean up penalties and turnovers ASAP.
500+ yards and only scored 20.

Great. Does that matter? I really hope this was some more of that “NFL vanilla preseason” like play calling on offense. If it wasn’t, Southern Miss is going to be bad.

Did anyone notice what our guy who intercepted the last one did on the sideline? Was he basically fighting the guys trying to get the ball back? What kind of crap have we sunk to? I don’t know about most of you but I’m struggling to enjoy college football. What the hell is really with Avery Hall? He says the absolute most stupid crap.

Something was mentally off today, at least that’s what I’m hoping. Not sure what happened in a week, but damn this was a tough watch.App_in_Maiden wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 5:50 pmI’m not going to start freaking out and saying our season is in danger, but the penalties, the dropped passes, and turnovers are concerning. They did go pretty vanilla on the scheme, but we expected that. Regardless, the turnovers penalties and miscues are what hurt.ericsaid wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 5:52 pmOregon State? Boise who lost by 24 to USF? JMU who just lost Louisville?

Hats off to DJ and the defense. They spent the majority of the game on the field and played lights-out. We got some DUDES on D.
