I believe somebody has been pee'ed on in this thread but not this peon. What's the phrase? Better to be pissed off than pissed on.

It makes a difference when youre daddy is the coach, and as a RB coach youre making as much money as the only Coordinator we had at the time.
And what he was making is greater than double what the average American makes.
I wanted him to retire. I wanted him to become what Erk Russel was to GSU. Unfortunately it seems he wants to dismantle the program before he leaves.vegattk wrote:

Perhaps they should just list all of the reasons, and let JMs reputation absorb the impact, instead of the entire program, because these peeons that dont even follow App football are creating a stir without even knowing whats been going on.
His son should have been let go, but as to the salary, someone on here posted the staff's salaries and his wasn't out of line with the rest based on experience.
He won't do that but he is not going to pretend to be happy either.GlassOnion wrote:I wanted him to retire. I wanted him to become what Erk Russel was to GSU. Unfortunately it seems he wants to dismantle the program before he leaves.vegattk wrote:

You're right, it doesn't change anything Cobb said...But it sure makes someone a liar.goapps93 wrote:Why not good? That statement doesn't change anything that Cobb said. Coach didn't have to tell Cobb it was last season, he was told it would be his last season. This has been hashed and rehashed already and will probably continue to be until we come to the realization that it has happened and we need to move on. Nothing we discuss here will cause Coach Moore to be brought back on as head coach. He also stated in that story that he dosen't won't to offend anybody, there aren't any big, big issues and he doesn't want to start any. Moore said that he didn’t agree that this past season would be his last season, and that he had expressed his desire to coach another year.
“I know I never told him this would be my last season,” Moore said.

The list I saw showed only Jones with a higher salary. If it was wrong then I apologize. It was not my intention to misrepresent anything. It was my intention to declare that C. Moore was overpaid for his experience level and for his contribution to the team. Whoever approved it was wrong to let him rise up the ranks as quickly as he did.AppGrad78 wrote:appst89 wrote:His son was the second highest paid coach on the staff, and he rose to that level very quickly, passing some other folks along the way.JCline0429 wrote:GlassOnion wrote:They were trying to save Jerry Moores reputation, instead of firing him publicly for losing control of the program, paying his son an insane amount of money, his sons own antics, and other failures on and off the field, such as not recruiting for 2 years, and his staff having arguments and not being able to even get a play called to the QB in the middle of the game.Appersrule wrote:Well I lost all respect for Peacock and Cobb for trying to paint a different picture than the real story and tried to hide between a poorly worded press release.

Glenn: His son wasn't the second-highest paid coach on the staff and I'm surprised you would perpetuate that myth. Jones and Speir had significantly higher salaries. ASU's football salaries were/are largely based on length of service. That's where Chris Moore had an edge over guys like Elder, Holt and Glenn. Certainly Chris Moore's firing was justified, but to suggest Jerry Moore lined his son's pockets is wrong. By the way, all salaries and salary increases are approved by the athletic director.
How so? Moore said himself in the write-up that there was miscommunication. I think both of them are acurately disclosing what they took out of last years meeting. It actually happens pretty often that multiple parties can be part of the same conversation and for whatever reason come out with different conceptions of what was said or agreed to. I'm not holding either completely responsible or completely blameless in this situation.Appersrule wrote:You're right, it doesn't change anything Cobb said...But it sure makes someone a liar.goapps93 wrote:Why not good? And I'd say this confirms Coach Moore doesn't want there to be any turmoil.
Where was the outrage when Chris Moore and McClain "left to pursue other opportunities" last year?appbio91 wrote: The point is that it was presented as something other than a firing. Cobb and Peacock should have the balls to call it what it was; a firing.
"Pursue other opportunities" is corporate speak for fired. Everyone knows that. "WE" agreed implies a mutual acceptance that retirement was arranged. As for the rest you are right last year was the last straw and I fully agree that Coach may not have been capable of making the tough decisions to fire his son and other staff. This is an unfortunate thing.GlassOnion wrote:Where was the outrage when Chris Moore and McClain "left to pursue other opportunities" last year?appbio91 wrote: The point is that it was presented as something other than a firing. You think that wasnt a firing?
Cobb and Peacock let it happen quietly in respect to Jerry Moore, the same way they tried to be respectful to JM this time, while doing their job, and replacing a coach that was not doing a great job. I dont know any coach that could have had the player, recruiting and staff issues JM had the past 3 years and not get canned.
