Only thing missing was a Gold LED light show to celebrate! My money is on us getting those for next year. Good way to end the home slate this year, we needed a W at home for the community.

Re: JMU @ App +7
I think the mojo came from the defense. For the most part the D has been good since the second half of the LaLa game. The offense showed up (after the obligatory non-scoring opening two possessions of both halves). We still need to improve against the up the middle runs, but there’s a lot more confidence on that side of the ball.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 7:02 pmI was prepared for a beat down and was expecting us going down 0-14. I am shocked that we then went on a 34-6 run. I think a lot of the mojo came from the air show provided by Joey and Jackson. It was mentioned above that JMU was soft. Perhaps the weather got to them.
And, we actually put in some pre-snap line shifts today on the defensive front.

That is amazing - and offsets being outgained. I can never remember a game with no penalties, and I’ve been watching App football since 1973.

I sat beside the father of the backup QB. I found out why Hughes was out with injury. Maybe others know but I only found out why at the game.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 6:32 pmGreat to have Hughes back. Changes field position....and I just feel like it is automatic if in FG range

The long layoff couldn't have come at a better time for App; it not only allowed our players heal up, but it also helped them forget about the Coastal debacle.
And it's always a good day when App smacks the Dukes around.

Be more than happy to assist in any way I can. All they have to do is ask. Take $10M out of the $100M fully funded east side and put it towards lights and sound system.

That was a fantastic win. Very nice Senior Day. Many have already said it, but that was by far the best, most complete, game we've played this season. For three quarters there, it almost looked like we had the talent to complete in the Sun Belt.

Were they well coached too?
They put all the pieces together and played a great game yesterday. But still, it was one game.

Re: JMU @ App +7
That CCU team played hard, JMU looked like we did in Conway, uninspired and missed throws.
These are 18-22 year olds and if one side is bringing it and the other isn’t the last two games are the results.

Re: JMU @ App +7
App played a great game, for sure, but even more so, JMU played a really bad game. While I was on my way home from Boone last night, I thought about it for a while and came to the realization that we were a trap game for the Dukes that they fell right into.
They play Marshall next Saturday and likely had/have that game circled on their calendars, as they had to beat Marshall to win the East, alongside some other good luck from other teams losing. They saw App was having a down year and went into prep mode for their big Marshall game, but forgot that The Rock is unforgiving territory.
So, they came in cocky, kept mocking the fans in the stands, started getting a little nervous when we stuck with them in the first quarter, and then the wheels just fell off. Next week for them is up in the air. Will their flaws be so prevalent that they start to internally collapse or will they be so angry that they come out with a vengeance?
Regardless, not our problem, because we took care of the Dukes with somewhat ease at home and I loved every second of it, JMU tears and all.
