Re: Shawn Elliott article
SE would NEVER consider the HC job at GaSt. He already makes more than the HC there.
wouldnt be surprised if he does not get the HC job there at USC at all and i believe he will be an asst head coach at another SEC school.

Re: Shawn Elliott article
I'm glad Elliott has the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities as HC and sad at the same time that in reality he will most likely not get the permanent job. As he stated when he took the OL job 'this is his dream job, to coach at USC'. He will probably not be retained by the new coach, but should have no trouble catching on with another team.

Re: Shawn Elliott article
I wouldn't be sure about that. I could see a scenario where that could cause a division on the team. He either stays on as the SC head coach, moves on to another SEC gig, or gets a G5/P5 head coaching job somewhere.huskie3 wrote:I'm glad Elliott has the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities as HC and sad at the same time that in reality he will most likely not get the permanent job. He's not likely to get the permanent head coaching job at the University of South Carolina. The high rollers and rabid Game Cock fans wouldn't have it.

We are saying the same thing. As a Coach I do not use as many words as a former writer does to say the same thing.

South Carolina has 6 remaining games and 3 are against top 10 teams.
They need to win at least 4 to be bowl eligible.
If Elliott gets them bowl eligible, they'd be foolish to let him go. And if that top 10 upset is against Clemson (ruining their perfect season), he'll be an icon in Columbia.
If they're not bowl eligible, but play well under Elliott, he'll be a great spot to land a good gig.

Re: Shawn Elliott article
Can't see it with Cobb there. But in addition to that I can't see it period. In spite of fantastic facilities to play in it is the most depressing place I have ever been. Every thing was great with tailgating and the stadium and not even 1000 fans showed up. Now that they are in college those players are playing in front of the smallest crowd they have played since grade school.
