Ha my point exactly. This is business...when it comes to the point the asset has depreciated in value, we replace it. I'm not saying it wouldn't be cool to have a black and gold semi. I'm not saying "damn the torpedoes and cram everything in a truck that's obviously too small to fit our needs". I'm saying "why drop (just making up a number here) $500,000 if we don't NEED to?" The day will come...probably soon. I'm just being pragmatic. Glad semi trucks are all we have to talk about and not discipline problems or injuries.

It's also a giant billboard running down the highway.

Some people only see a truck. Others that are more visionary see it as much more, an image, a billboard, a statement, a brand. We need people running our program that see a truck as much more than a truck.

This is an area in which we will necessarily have to keep up with the "Joneses" of the G5. Doug Gillin probably has it on a mile long list that he's working with the staff to prioritize. I'm certain he has contacts in the trucking industry who will lease a nice big rig to the university for a modest annual fee. I'm also certain that our staff has contacts in the auto racing vinyl signage biz to get the tractor and trailer properly branded to cause a stir everywhere it goes. These things don't happen overnight--but I'd bet the legwork is already underway. Just hide and watch.

We have so many needs, some things will have to wait their turn on Doug's list.

Now we really need a traveling billboard to be visionary? Dear God in heaven...what twilight zone have we entered. Visionary is far beyond the side of a truck.

Hell, in that case looks like we need to downsize and save some money on fuel costs.

Let's just ditch the box truck and load that on the back of a pickup truck.

I wonder what all those other teams are hauling in their big rigs?

A big ad on the side of the trailer.

And it would seem they are compensating. ;)

A rig could be used much like a NASCAR team uses its hauler at a short track, except ours would be used as a rolling equipment fix-it shop, instead of a garage. Probably less has to be unloaded from a rig.

Whether that's worth the cost, I don't know.
