We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. Ann Arbor is the most non-friendly place I have ever been. Glad you had a good time. Once is enough for me.
Ever been to Statesboro? You'll be greeted differently there.

We were in Ann Arbor (downtown) too, and in colors. Few spoke to us there. So what? I got the sense that only some were football fans. No one jeered at us, either.

The fans we met at the game and in the sports bar we went to in Plymouth (about 15 miles from Ann Arbor) were fine folks. They knew little about App. State, but respectfully inquired and listened to what we had to say, as we did to them.

U. M. is what a great football tradition should be about. There's a quiet confidence there that some can misinterpret. OK, it is what it is. I have no problem with that. U.M. has earned their tradition & their pride in their football.
I'm glad you met some nice people, good for you. Just wish we had been as fortunate. I am even more inspired now, however, to be a gracious host for visitors in Boone and never let the concept of "pride" enter into the equations of my personality. I resolve to be better because of my trip to Ann Arbor.

And yes, as a matter of fact, I have been to SE Georgia, four times, all expense paid two week vacations. I enjoyed the comforts of their country; the ticks, the fleas, the mosquitoes, the gnats, the snakes, the heat, the humidity, the stench. Figuring Statesboro to be the same type of environment, I have not returned on my own accord. Perhaps in 2016.
74 - on our trip to Ann Arbor in '07 we didn't find the same over-friendly fans that some evidently found - they were more of the "above-you" type behavior as we corrected many on the proper pronunciation of the school. After the game all were in such shock they couldn't say much. The friendliest we have run into over the years were the people at VT --- Now for Statesboro, we went once back in the mid 2000s and I promise you I NEVER plan to return --- ABSOLUTELY THE WORST I HAVE COME ACROSS IN 60 YEARS OF GOING TO FOOTBALL GAMES !!! :(

The group that I travel with enjoyed LSU. We had one guy give us his cell phone number and told us to call him if we got stuck by the storm and that we could stay with him and his family. VT was good except for the asshat in front of us.

I didn't find them to be overly friendly, but not rude by any means. We got a lot of stares but it was more the sort of 'I really wish I could look down on you as I should, but you're one up on us.'
