We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. Re: Roster Updates
what the hell.. thats got to be a personal problem, he was getting playing time, and it looked like he was atleast going to getting a shot at starting next year, really hurts the depth on the line.

Re: Roster Updates
I really liked the Millhouse kid and hate to see him leave. He would certainly have been in the DL rotation this year. Can't afford to lose any more interior linemen (I know he lined up at DE some too). Guess we'll see him next year with the Camels.

Re: Roster Updates
I've been watching Millhouse pretty closely for the past few months. Whatever problem he was having it appeared to be personal, as has been mentioned. I didn't seem like a football problem, whether time or staff, as we've seen in the past. The rumor has been floating around for a while that he was going to leave but he has been doing winter workouts so who knows. It does open up one more scholarship so I expect one of three things to happen. We either try and find a replacement DT from those still not signed, move Fernandez back to NT, or possibly look at Edge-Campbell as a replacement because of his NT experience. I know he talked about center/guard last night but Millhouse is still listed on the roster so his decision was probably a quick one as far as the staff is concerned. They're usually pretty quick to take someone off the roster when they know about it. Bronson played much better at DE than he did at NT so I think moving him back would be a last resort for the staff. We need someone bigger/stronger (upper body strength) in that spot, especially with who we are playing this year. I could see a rotation of Small and Fernandez with Burns as the "give them a rest for a few plays" guy. All this, of course, is counting that Small comes back at 100%. And we couldn't afford for one to go down again. Would hurt us at NT so we've got to replace Millhouse with someone.

Re: Roster Updates
With the class that was just announced, quite a few of the players on our roster are going to be looking over their shoulders and re-evaluating their prospects for playing time going forward. It's a fact that we've just brought in some better players than some of the players on our roster.
Greg Milhouse may be the first to read the handwriting on the wall--but he certainly won't be the last. There will be more attrition leading up to and after the spring game then again in July/August as players begin to see that their future in ASU football has been upstaged by bigger, better, faster, quicker players and better all-around athletes. It happens. If youngsters choose to leave, our staff should accept and support their decisions; wish them well and help to place them in another situation where they might be successful. Unhappy players just hanging on eventually become detriments to what the staff is trying to accomplish.

Re: Roster Updates
I'm betting that we will want to redshirt as many of these kids as possible since this season is a transition one. There will be a couple and we have some very good redshirt freshmen that will be getting playing time.

Re: Roster Updates
I expect the coaches will be more than willing to part with a few veteran reserves. Not sure of our roster breakdown by class, but my guess is we'll need a decent amount of attrition to be able to sign a full 25 next year.asu66 wrote: If youngsters choose to leave, our staff should accept and support their decisions; wish them well and help to place them in another situation where they might be successful. Re: Roster Updates
Small played great the second half of the season at NT and Fernandez really looked good in the limited time he played there too. Along with Burns, this is a pretty good rotation and I would expect all to a little bigger and stronger and have a year of experience under their belt in the 3-4. App could use a little more depth there with Millhouse gone, but this is a pretty good group.
I don't think anyone should make assumptions on why Millhouse left unless you know. The kid got playing time as a true Freshman so he's got some talent and lots of time to improve. I really hate seeing him leave the program before reaching his full potential.

Re: Roster Updates
Millhouse has been removed from the roster. So has Anthony Covington. Satt said last night that the roster was 80. I knew it was 82 so I thought he was just talking in "close to" terms but I look anyway. There were still the 82 on the page but it appears they knew last night that Millhouse and Covington had left. Millhouse was depth and a good player. I was expecting Covington to be in the two deep and get a lot of playing time. He had big personal problems this past year, talked about it often, but I really hate that both have left. Glad we signed a great class with several DB's because losing Grey, Brown, and now Covington have dropped our experience there.
EDIT: Just looked at AC's twitter. He hasn't said anything about leaving the team. He's talking about tests and classes. And still has his background pic as him in App uni and says App State student-athlete in his about me section. Guess we hide and watch. I'm going to reach out and ask a few sources about him.

Well that was a bit ungracious, it's not like we are some backwater town in Louisana or Arkansas. I cansee the winter issue but the mountain man comment I don't get.

Well hard to blame him there. I mean, there's no way he could have known before he committed that Boone is cold and located in the mountains.

The mountain will not hit him in the tail on his way out. Reason being, appears his tail is tucked between his legs.
