Apologies for the snappy response. Although I have seen bits and pieces, the movie is older than I am so I didn't catch the reference initially .AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 1:23 pmEasy man. Joey Dimes sounds Mafiaoso, a hit man, a bookie, etc. Cringeworthy

I like Joey at QB and I think he has done a good job. That being said, 51% completion rate will not get it done for the remainder of our schedule. I know UNC dbs made some good plays but there were many bad throws and bad decisions. Again, I like him but I am not willing to anoint him yet especially coming off a 51% passing performance.

He forced several passes into coverage for sure, however as i mentioned earlier, he is calm, has a quick release and pace. He is much more a complete QB that we've had since #14....so far.

Re: Jose. Best App passing qb in recent memory?
I really am not sure about that at all. Taylor Lamb was very much a complete qb even if he didn't have the strongest arm and Zac Thomas was a complete qb even if he lacked touch because his arm was too strong and Chase Brice was a complete qb even if he was mostly immobile and lacked speed. Glad everyone loves Joey and I hope he turns out to be the best ever but lets not pretend we have been suffering from sub par qb play since AE wore the Black and Gold.

I still feel like he hasn't even played his best yet. I think he could go for 325+ Saturday just considering how ECU played on run defense.

Joey is a nice compliment of Lamb and Thomas combined. Armanti is the best player to play the position but if we are making opinions based on who the best passer is, then it is Chase Brice hands down.

His poise and decision making is impressive. And also while not being “fast-fast” his mobility is pretty fluid and a absolute plus. Stoked about his start.
Small sample size, but I’m interested in watching his deep ball develop. I’ve caught some underthrows in both games. Nothing too damaging to his overall play, just noticeable.

I don't really care how Joey compares to Chase, Taylor, Zac or the Great One AE. I just care that he is the best on the roster for the moment and brings in the dubs. I like the kid's swagger. Fun to watch and while laid back in press conferences, he controls the huddle and field well. Keep slinging it Joey Bag O' Touchdowns!

Re: Jose. Best App passing qb in recent memory?
Agree. It's a bit silly to either anoint him or compare him to past QB's. I really thought Chase was the best throwing QB we have had (that I have seen). AE was simply the best player in the position that I've seen. I look at different attributes in certain positions and can separate one from the other. We have had some good ones for sure. Joey so far just looks cool and comfortable which is huge in my book.

The thing is, I’d say we are seeing the floor for him, not the ceiling. I’m optimistic that he will clean up some of the ill advised throws once Ponce crawls all over his ass a few times. I think he looks impressive and I’m excited about it.
