I’ll just go with the bad. The 2 guys behind me that kept yelllin for the 3rd down bells….when we had the ball. “Gaw Almighty, it’s 3rd down, ring the damn bells” 😂

Most frustrating things- the things I think stood out the most from last week to this week..

1. We abandoned the run /ball control approach. Cam and Co. were picking up chunk yards. Keep running if they can't stop it.

2. Blocks downfield weren't being sustained.

3. Secondary was just off again. The quick dumps and stretches kill us. Not sure if Dale can find a way to drop LBs back to cut those off but UnC/AM/Troy all took advantage (some better than others).

4. Special teams. We just don't have those crash test dummy guys. Kick it through the endzone, please.

All things we can work with, film study should be enlightening this week. Glad we took the dub regardless of the less than stellar play.
We did control 2/3s of the time in the second half, which allowed us to take our first lead after leading 7-0.
Do you think the intent was to kick short, or he just failed to put it in the end zone? I hope it was the later because the last three times we failed to do that, we gave up a TD and two long returns.

The football IQ of the fan base is certainly lacking at times. Eep. It was the same at GameDay with the constant booing of Michigan and A&M. It's like y'all, we want them to do well because it makes us look better.

I remember the first home game after Michigan in 2007 and every time the score was announced with Oregon winning the whole stadium would cheer. I facepalmed all game long.

The last kick definitely looked like a planned short kick.

I have not had a chance to read much of this thread (and likely will not have time for a few days) so this may or may not be a repeat post. My apologies if this is a repeat.

Has it been mentioned how #2 had the composure to lay some blocks after the catch and if not then there is no TD more than likely. That was textbook for keeping one's head in the game and finishing the play.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

I picked Troy to win the West before the season .They've done nothing to change my mind.Injuries will play a roll in a long , tough Sunbelt seaon though. We need to get healthy.Quick.

Not a betting man but I think I'd lean towards Troy.

We got an INT, had 5 min more possession, and total yards positive and reasonable pressure when we blitzed.

Troy had more return yards, and more passing yards.

Yet to a person it felt like we got whipped, myself included

It will be interesting to see how Troy and Marshall bounce back after such tough losses.

Hopefully, Peoples injury is not bad and Noel comes back soon. If the rule still is you can play 4 games and keep redshirt, I hope the new RB gets some opportunities during the year. With Harrington, Castle, WF transfer, etc., It seems those guys will get first shot for carries.
Post game...it was great to see Bruce helping students who were climbing over the wall ...I want to have on field celebrations after every game if that is what students want to do. They are college kids. I am sure DG and the staff will try to address the safety issues this week. What a great game.
The only reason we should be redshirting, is if the player isnt ready or is injured. I don't see a reason to redshirt him with the free portal onslaught that's occurring. You play the studs on campus while you have them so there's a lesser chance they leave. If Cam and Noel are a no go with a banged up Harrington, play the man. Who knows what the future holds, but we got him on campus, lets use him. FWIW, i think the 4 games to burn a shirt is still intact. Let's get Cam Noel and Harrington healthy and get this 5 headed monster attack rolling!

GO APPS!

I agree. The portal makes keeping a redshirt player less certain. Play the best players when needed.

We have some fans that are not intelligent. The cheerleaders on multiple occasions in the 2nd half were trying to get App...State chants started when we had the ball in between plays. 0 sense what so ever on that front. Should be easy correction. Amount of bleacher "coaches" is hilarious but dumb as well. Might be getting wireless headphones to listen to broadcast to tune them out. One person near me thought the ball should be ran EVERY play.

You must sit in 205. Lots of “coaches” around me. Heard a guy from 204 yell at our kick retuner for fair catching that high KICKOFF, “why are you calling fair catch on the 5?” Brilliant grasp of the rules.

Surely we got a kicker that can boot it in the end zone. Just do it. If you place it and cover, you may make the tackle at the 18 yd or so, at best. So you can gain 6-7 yards of field position but risk worse (a longer return) and risk injury and penalty (though that usually is the risk of the returning team). Keep it simple. Boot it in the end zone.

A loss like Troy had can linger and Marshall will come in pissed off.

I also think our physical play impacts teams the next week.

Marshall wins by 10+ and our fans will wonder why they made it look easier.
