Is official attendance still calculated only by the number of tickets sold?
I asked Doug Gillin that question and he said the numbers represent butts in seats.
If it's butts in the seats, how do they calculate the "seats" on Miller Hill, since there are none.

I still recall sitting at a few games where the announced attendance was over 30k and wondered where those extra 8k or so people were sitting, standing, hanging from trees, etc. One game in particular was against Coastal way back in the FCS days. I sat on the East side and I guess at the time our official seating was about 22k? Seems like we had over 30k announced that day but the east side wasn’t completely full. Obviously sold tickets count regardless of whether a butt was there.

Good. So that should include students who often can not get in?
That does not include students who can't get in, since their butt is not in a seat.

Who are those students? There are no students turned away at the gate. The athletics fee they pay guarantees them admission to sporting events. There is no student ticket lottery. So, who are those students who often can't get in?

I’ve never heard of a student being turned away. If I had happened, pretty sure we would’ve heard about it.

Make folks singular and you have it. Some folks really just want to be contrarians.

You said make folks singular and then the VERY next sentence you left it plural. I am so confused.
And whenever I hear folk as a singular I have to think of this song from the Simpsons.
And this is not to imply anyone on the board is a slack-jawed yokel, but the song just uses folk in the singular and, bam, it is in my head and I am singing along.

Appst89, I think you are on to something here.
There’s gotta be a way to have an auto-reply to every post NewApp makes that says just that.

Sure would cut down on all the nonsense posts and pointless arguments he tries to start on here.

Any post that references Cletus the Slack Jawed Yokel gets an automatic upvote from me. Thems the rules.
As for the second “folks”, my phone must have hoodooed me. I intended to have it singular and didn’t proofread. Busted.
