Calling out Luke Combs!!!!!!!

Luke Combs and Eric Church did do a song together- "Does to Me". Luke just had a video to come out for his song "Lovin' On You". He sports an App hat as well as the kid who plays the young Luke Combs.... sorry, we are big Luke Combs fans.

I know he is not popular on this board, but I have always liked Eric Church’s song “The Outsiders” as an App State football anthem. He did give a shout out to us last night on the ACM awards when he introduced his “fellow Mountaineer” Luke Combs. Maybe they could collaborate on a song.

I was picking my son up from Swim practice when the ACM Awards started; when I got home my wife mentioned Eric Church showed App State some love I had to rewind it to see it. Pretty cool! I told the Mrs I thought he was trying to atone for his intro at UNC last year. I still don't think he would have said, "yeah use my intro for that game." His son is named Boone for goodness sake. I'd bet he was as surprised as we were when that intro popped up, though he shouldn't have been.

Regardless, it's amazing to have two high profile Alums celebrated for their profession on prime time like that. Hat's off to Luke for Male Artist of the year and Album of the year. Man's got talent.

If you want to get technical, Luke is not actually an alum (and neither am I for that matter) because he actually left to pursue music before earning his degree.

Thanks for those thoughts! Certainly, Luke is an alum by that definition. I, however, was never accepted, attended, or graduated from App lol Just moved to Boone because of a good friends invite and fell in love with the area and App athletics. I'm the 'Walmart fan' that we give UNC fans are hard time about HA! But I have no shame in that. I've got many friends (and a wife) who DID attend and graduate from App, part of the Yosef club, and ONLY support App as my favorite college/university. Proud to be a part of this board (and others) that help keep me connected to the happenings of App athletics and fans!

Luke and Eric have already collaborated. I bet my brother $50.00 that Eric was going to be a surprise guest and join him on stage this year at the Rock before the concert got cancelled. Eric didn't have any concerts scheduled for the month of May, made too much sense.
