"Give Em Hell" chant

"Give 'em Hell" making a comeback when the band marches off after the National Anthem (Football) and off the field at halftime (Football)would be great. But where I miss it the most, is when the pep band at basketball games would play it. We need some young people to spread this through the "Neer" generation. Or as I call them "Generation NEER"

i know my name has neer in it, but i want to vomit when i hear these 21 year olds say "Roll Neers."

When I started in fall 1973 the BOD would enter the stadium and march in front of the student body, yelling the "Give 'em Hell!" at the end of each cadence. The really cool thing was that if you were in your seat prior to their entrance you could hear the cadence coming up Stadium Drive and the "Give 'em Hell" waaaay off in the distance. The anticipation was so great that once the band was on the track the students were in an uproar!

Another band person here. Still a thing, just not publicized I guess is the right way to put it. This is the kinda reason we need a "midnight yell" to get some of these things made into actual traditions.

Fans tend to follow what the band does. Looking at that video, it only appears a small section of the band was actually saying "Give'm Hell". If the ENTIRE band would YELL it each time, I think it would catch back on. I've already taught my kids to say it
