I may be crazy, but was are close enough to the AAC teams now in the rankings that I don't think a 2 loss AAC champ gets the Cotton Bowl over us if we win out. So, if Cincy beats Memphis next week but Memphis beats them the following week in the championship game (or vice versa) than I still think we move ahead of that 2 loss champ. Boise still needs to lose as well.

I worry that especially if games are competitive, a split in the Cincy-Memphis game may not be enough. I think I'd prefer Navy at this point although we''ll need to see if the SMU win was enough to get them back in the rankings and where they compare against us.

One factor in App's favor is that Louisiana is looking stronger and stronger each week. It certainly will not be a gimme the way they are playing, but a potential 10-2 team with only losses to us and an SEC opponent is about the best final game we could hope for to make our case.

It'll be close if it comes down to a 2 loss AAC champ and a 12-1 App with 2 P5 wins. Boise is now up 21-7 over Utah St but they could still lose the MWC championship game to San Diego St. They could even be upset by Colorado St, but unlikely.
I have to say that Troy scares me. They'll be playing for win #6 and a bowl game which would be some redemption for their lackluster season. The good news is that UL is facing a similar situation with ULM but they're playing at home. I really want to host the championship game again in Boone!
While I was typing this Boise is now up 28-7 early in the 2nd qtr...

ESPN power rankings.

Seems most articles have mentioned the Sutton injury.

Not enough chaos this weekend to give us a shot, just need to win out and finish in the top 20 at this point.
