As mentioned earlier Southern Miss has a bye on 10/6. Play Southern Miss on 10/6 - Move the Arkansas State game to 10/13. I think ESPN would allow this; however, Arkansas St may not be willing to give up an espn2 game.
Other than the above, I think we're playing an 11 game regular season.
I think Arky St would prefer a weekend game versus a Tuesday night.
There's a discussion about that over on the Belt board and the Ark State mod is concerned that more people would be interested in high school ball than they would stAte ball on Friday night.

I figured there would be more concern with hunting season.

It's beginning to look like App State will have to aim for 12-1 instead of 13-1 this year . . .

I think the concern was the potential loss of security and support personal who might be sent East to cover Florence. Maybe travel concerns for USM and their entourage too.
It also frees up hotel rooms for evacuees.

Let's not forget the flack we received from high school coaches when we played on Friday night. It's not all about us.

Clemson just moved the Stink game from 3:30 to Noon. Don't really see why App couldn't have done the same.

Totally what they should have done, and was thinking this whole time. Based on the forecast, it surprised me that they canceled it.

^^^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^^^
Cancellations are about police, firefighters, and first responders moving east. Also the school doesn't want fans traveling to games in inclement weather.

Just saw a tweet from Brett McMurphy stating that Iowa State has rescheduled their canceled home opener for Dec 1. If they make the Big 12 title game they will not play the rescheduled opener. If they don't make the title game they have their rescheduled game to play. Maybe this is an option though I'm sure if we go this route we all hope the game we play on 12/1 is the title game!

I looked at the AAC conference schedule a few days ago and if we didn't mind doing a short week, we could probably play Cincy, SMU, Tulane or UCONN in early October.

I would love to play Tulane - we need a home and away series with them.

Now that the Southern Miss game has been officially cancelled, let the inevitable hypothetical rescheduling options be discussed!
I'll start with Clemson at The Rock on October 13 . . . both teams have this weekend cancelled . . .
Dream on. We're about 70,000 seats short.

I'll be out of town on 10/13 so a home game is a no-go.
Perhaps we can rearrange the whole schedule so you can attend. Just a dose of your sarcasm back at you.

Strong suggestion for G5s. Start playing "Week 0." Currently most G5s especially CUSA, MAC and Sun Belt do not have bye weeks which causes these issues when a game needs to be re scheduled.

There were clear option available this weekend. Don’t look to reschedule just play out the rest of the games, it isn’t going to change the outcome of the season.

Wonderin' aloud.... If USM had been a 20 point favorite, would that have changed their view on trying to get played?

If we were a 20 point dog would we have tried to play?
