Re: Official Buchtel prediction thread
Not sure how I feel this week. Will we be hungry and pissed off, or will we be hungover from the let down last week. If we are the former I expect us to win decisively, if it is the latter we will get embarrassed. Still not sure what our capabilities are (other than being able to run on anyone) after three weeks. I'm thinking we end up somewhere in the middle and hold on in a close one.

Re: Official Buchtel prediction thread
Defense should be fired up - but can they stop the hurry-up and quick outs? Run game should have a big day, and hopefully give us an early cushion to open up some opportunities for Lamb to settle into his passing game. This also could be a great day to get some experience for our WRs, if we get that early cushion.

If the defense makes the proper adjustments to battle the bubble screens and hurry up offense and the DB play improves the Apps should be okay. I predict the defense rises up this weekend and the offense is at its grind it out best even without Marcus.

Re: Official Buchtel prediction thread
This game has me worried. The old saying, 'never let a team beat you two weeks in a row', is one of my concern. Does the hangover effect from the Miami loss linger too long for our guys to play a good game? Or, have they put it behind them, worked on their weaknesses, and are mentally prepared to play hard for the remainder of the season? Those questions will be answered this weekend, and that answer may define the rest of our season. I also worry about Marcus being out of the game, our offense just doesn't flow as well without him in the game. Not to mention that they have a fast paced pass offense that seems to be our achilles heel on defense. Too many questions for me to feel comfortable on week 4 of the season. All that being said, I just can't see us losing this game. If this team is what I suspect it is, we make a statement this week and the Zips are in trouble. Great write up as always Big C

We are like a wounded animal backed into a corner and this Saturday we come out to fight and put a complete game together. We see a healthy dose of Moore, Evans and Boyd on the ground and Capel and Letman have a beak out game in the air.

This is going to be a knock down drag out for both teams, we have got to come out and establish momentum . I know we are a run oriented offense, but the passing game has to be able extend the field more than 10 yards. You just don't put up 65 points on a Marshall team at their place and expect it was a fluke! Win the turnover and penalty battle and we will win.

Re: Official Buchtel prediction thread
Like many of you have mentioned, this one could go either way. I want to believe the coaching staff has used the Miami loss to fire this team up and get them motivated and (more importantly) focused on execution. Akron's passing game is a concern if IF App is unable to get pressure through the line of scrimmage. IF App controls the line and gets into Akron's backfield, and IF App controls the line and creates running lanes, and provides some time for the passing game, then this one goes the way of the good guys.
