The first thing is to not immediately quit when things get hard. That’s what cowards and losers do.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 7:36 pmOk beau. Tell me how we fix this without an influx of $?BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 7:35 pmThere’s tons of idiotic takes on this board each week. Congrats for topping this week’s chart.
Second is to find the right players, who will play disciplined ball and want to play hard. Will we win every week? Probably not. But we can compete in FBS more years than not. But we have to put the work in to find the right players, which is going to take time. We’re not going to turn this ship around in one off season.

Everyone needs to relax. The smart folks knew that we would lose to USM and to Boise State. We are still early in the year. I will start criticizing Loggains and staff if we are turning the ball over like crazy in 3-4 weeks. We do need to get better though. Some of the mistakes we are making are not anything that more NIL money will fix.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 7:37 pm5 years ago we would belong on this field. I'd sign the petition to move back to FCS today. Today. This program cannot keep up. We're too poor.

We are looking like the past ULM of the east right now. They have caught up some to other west members. Doesn’t seem like we are too close to east opponents. Maybe coastal, that remains to be seen.

I was wondering if we’d get a TD the whole game. So one before half would be a nice surprise.

Thanks! We will just continue to get blown out by programs we formerly considered peers.

I still maintain that NIL money would be most impactful on the lines, particularly the oline. I know a lot of our fans hate to read that, but we will only ever be as successful as our oline allows us to be. It’s true at every level (ahem, Panthers)

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
Building an organization that excels in player development that can take a mix of high school kids and portal guys looking for playtime to score a big pay check when they leave the next year and put a winning G5 team on the field. Xs and Os mean little when players can't execute fundamentals each and every play. Most any offensive or defensive scheme can work at the college level if fundamentals are the focus as they create that execution. So no, its not all about the money. Its an understanding of how to build a G5 program from the ground up in the NIL/portal era that will right this ship in the long run. We are in the same boat as 70% of D1 college programs. If they can understand how to do it then so can we.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 7:36 pmOk beau. Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
I ask this with all seriousness. It’s mentioned over and over that we can only compete with a big influx of money. How exactly is that going to work at App? How much money is needed? What is the ROE that is acceptable? If we go 6-6 on average is that worth it? Will money buy desire? Will money prevent penalties and awful turnovers? I believe there is a reason why a huge number of players are available in the portal for us to choose from. They weren’t good enough to play at or above our level. Some might have been lazy or had bad attitudes. We need a coach (maybe we have him) who can make over half of a new roster each year gel. It’s a huge challenge. I suspect that most G5 middle of the pack teams will bounce around between 5-7 and 8-4 every year.

On a brighter note, Cummings is legit. Hope we can keep that young man on the mountain.
