This is one of the big reasons I don't like neutral site games and your question almost exactly expresses my thoughts. I will also add as a season ticket holder I view it as we finally start scheduling games we have all dreamed about and then we start moving them to neutral sites - is one game with ecu going to open the floodgates? Oftentimes such games are not included in season ticket packages. For all intents and purposes, to the fan/season ticket-holder, it is another away game.bcoach wrote:Ok I have been thinking it over also. Would you ( any of you ) give up a game in Boone for it? Five home games? Not positive where I stand on that one. I really am very much a believer that every game should be on the campus of one of the teams playing. I really don't like neutral sites. Do I make an exception for this? I don't know.
Now, if somehow we are still able to pull 6 games in Boone with decent opponents and the neutral site game is a 7th "home" game instead of a true "away" game, the business side of me can see the fiscal benefits clear as day (an extra gate). Fan side of me is still on the fence (see above), but much more palatable.
