If SC remains in his current position after Dec. 31, 2022 then App State Football will absolutely be living in the transfer portal going forward.
Our last 20 offers for 2023 have been all juco and now into the portal. Oh, and we lose Chase brice next year so insert freshman qb!

"The termination without cause clause was also adjusted. Should Clark be fired without cause before Dec. 1, 2022, the school will pay him $5 million, which then drops to $3 million,
We will probably lose way more than 2 mil in ticket and concession sales in 23 if we keep him.
Wait, so are we still expanding the stadium to 40k? Lolol

Vegas wouldn't have all those shiny toys if they didn't know how to accurately power rank teams. Not saying there weren't deficiencies in personnel, but App still had enough horses to win the East, didn't even come close.
So because Vegas picked us to win 10 of 12 games we were just supposed to? I get all of that stuff but I saw a whole bunch of backups on defense tonight and I saw slow defensive backs with poor mechanics. I saw some guys out of position on defense (not just this game either). I also saw smaller backup linebackers playing who are not top tier Sunbelt level, good backup guys but that's all.
Literally everything you just pointed to is a coaching issue other than injuries.

Bad mechanics, poor position, smaller talent, all of it has a root cause of coaching.
So what’s your solution as you can’t differentiate talent
What's your solution other than asking other people for their solution?

You think everything is ok? Hoping to go 7-5 next year to hang your hat on the fact we improved, and made a bowl, all the while not even coming close to winning the conference, or even the division?

You can look at tonight and blame it on injuries, but when it's the same thing even with the majority of the team healthy, it's hard to just say injuries alone are to blame for this season.

Injuries aren't the reason we got blasted by Texas State or gave up a nice lead to JMU at home. Win those two games and that trip to Conway we'd already be bowl eligible, playing for a chance to control our destiny to win the division.
Can I ask why you automatically think next year will be a 6/7 win season?

Clark won 9 in 2020 and 10 in 2021. This was undeniably a bad year. But he’s won much more than he’s lost so far. Why the assumption that next year will be another dog?

Not suggesting it will be, but if it is do we look at that honestly as an improvement just because it's one more win than this year, and bowl eligible?

No idea what next year holds. A lot of question marks and in today's CFB landscape with transfers, it's even harder to put forth a next season estimate. Do we get another transfer QB? If not is there a clear leader on the current roster to take over as starter? Who will be lost to the portal? So much to uncover.

I think it's a coordinator problem, but I think it's on Clark to realize that and seek to make some changes. I think Clark and DG should have the conversation tomorrow about how they plan to proceed going forward, with Clark being open to searching for coordinator and position coach replacements.

Can't wait too long due to recruiting and if there is anyone currently unwilling to stay because the coach they liked has been replaced, gives them time to hit the portal and for coaches to set up for next year.

Still not sold on this "all the talent in the world". I think coaches were handicapped in some ways.

I also think there's a lot of room for improvement from the coaches and need to make those improvements this offseason.

Clark gets 1 more year.

Honest question. Is DJ only the DC because he is with TS daughter? Can SC not fire him because of that?

Because if that’s the case we are in even worse shape than we think we are.
That has been my concern the whole season. No way DJ is leaving unless he initiates it. Very slippery slope with the money TS gives to the program.

Throw out some names
My point is simple, but perhaps naive. My post is absolute truth - for the same reason there are not only 2 people worthy of leading the free world every 4 years. There are tens of thousands of individuals that could do a better job than anyone you place on a pedestal.

We are all just people.
So you don’t really have anyone you are just venting. You are just talking
Yes, just speaking through a forum - but certainly not conveying my point in a manner to be listened to or understood. It's okay. Just a game.
Oh Lord he's lost it
Nice set up and way to bring it home. ;-)
