114 out of 20,000 people ain’t bad.mtnchopyaz wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 11:17 amAnyone can see the numbers daily here

Currently Its 45 Active cases on campus and 114 total.
I said back in June they should have all students return early, have a big party in KBS, quarantine everybody for 14 days and be done with it. That still sounds like it would have been a better plan.

I'd prefer a vaccination and/or daily testing for the virus before we're safe for college athletics. Some vaccines are in Phase 3 trials, which could mean they could be available by the end of the year. There's a saliva test that could be as cheap as $10 that's allegdly coming out soon-ish.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 7:00 amYou are right. So what’s the solution? Continued indefinite isolation until a vaccine? I’m not a virus conspiracy theorist either, an honest questionT-Dog wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 10:18 pmI wish people would stop using this as justification to play football.Boroneer10 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 18, 2020 9:14 pmThis virus is little to no threat to guys our players age.
We don't know for sure how this virus affects young people, but what's true is that the number of cases in young people are growing.

Haha, I know you said you intended this as referencing the thread and not out team going back to practice but perhaps you should play the lotto because you unwittingly hit the nail on the head as we resumed practice.

Re: COVID cluster connected to Football team
yes, dude, i know the thought, but now there's been evidence out there from the WHO and CDC stating asymptomatic spread is extremely rare. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/08/asympto ... -says.htmlmtnchopyaz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 1:06 pmUmmm preventing the asymptomatic people not infect other people who will become symptomatic....and you know, Die.NashvilleNeer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 1:00 pm
If we're canceling the entire season for 99.95% asymptomatic cases then WTF are we doing?
The players are not in a bubble. This is not the NBA. Nothing prevents them from rolling into Harris Teeter and getting groceries or attending one of the numerous illegal house parties happening right now in Boone...
