We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Stadium experience Director
The last I was told, and this was 2 months ago, that it’s still on track and that detailed plans (used for bidding) we’re in the works. Still on track with a hope that it’s ready by 2025, but supply chain issues could move it (I think people are being extra careful about making definite promises after what we just went through after the last 3 years)appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 8:40 pmWhen's construction going to start?AppStateNews wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 6:36 pmIt was and still is.

Not saying it necessarily applies to me, you or your cronies. Just showing you I do know how to use google. As to ice and all that other stuff... I couldn't care less since I no longer can afford to travel to and watch games in person, so I show my support by listening to our games on WKBC. You might be surprised at the quality of the play by play and of course the beer commercials every time out.

Re: Stadium experience Director
Perhaps by then the 105 project will be complete and we can have a full fledged Track and Field program as well as a soccer team and field. Fingers crossed.

I believe track is complete already. We will not be bringing back men's soccer any time soon (if ever) and we already have a women's soccer team and field.
Thanks for playing but you really don't need to be negative about everything in life. It's ok to be positive too. You are the epitome of cranky old man.

Re: Stadium experience Director
What??? Nothing negative at all. It’s that Yosef Mountaineer Message Board member asu66 played soccer for App back in the day and it is said that Chuck was pretty damn good. Track and field was the only varsity sport i played and i wasn’t even mediocre. You guys take every d thing i post as negative. It’s that we have a state if the art football stadium and team but every other sport struggles to compete. Let’s face it, we are a football school. That’s what we are known nationally for. Now chill.

If calling someone an asshole for having some fun with what you said (you don't use Google) and constantly clamoring about the track and field facilities that are already completed and a program that isn't going to come back any time soon is being positive, I must be the most positive person on this planet....
Also, baseball made it to conference semis. Basketball did too and recently made the NCAA tournament. Wrestling is a top 25 program. Volleyball made tremendous improvement this past year. Softball has been on the rise (although, subpar this season). There's plenty to be positive about and there's more than enough proof that every other program does not struggle to compete...
Does football get most money? Yes. Did other programs have to slowly progress to fix the issues/budgeting of previous administration? Yes. Are all sports now getting significantly more funding and balance? Also yes.
If you're going to be so damn negative all the time at least be educated about what you're being negative about.

I posted about it in April. You commented. It was about the ribbon cutting on the track and field complex. They already held a track meet there.
The scroll pictures on this page give a nice view and show the facility already in use.

Appstate news did you read my post? I made it clear i wasn’t calling anyone asshole. I know the track has been roughly finished but last i saw in here the infield for field events was not finished nor a grandstand for spectators was not.

Again, all part of this obnoxious, and quite frankly really weird act he puts on. The fact that a grown, presumably older man, has to use this act for attention is weird, very weird.

Attention? LOL. And why exactly do you, Beau, daze, etc post about me? Is it attention? Seems that way. And i explained what I knew about the track and what had not been done..last time daze posted on here. At that time infield had not and grandstand had not. Reading is fundamental if you bother to read rather than assume.
Now got your attention for the day???

That may be too soon but 4 years seems doable. Would rather us be patient and get it right this go round. Need to make sure we have the contingency funds and engineering correct! Can’t re-do something after it’s already up!BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 12:28 pmIf I am betting in Vegas, my bet on the season it will be actually ready is 2027 season.

Re: Stadium experience Director
What did the west tower take - 2 seasons? 25 seems like a long shot, but 26 should be pretty reasonable (barring major supply chain issues or something crazy like a global pandemic)

I did. And I know you're not that dense. You knew exactly what you were doing. That's like me saying "really, we all are just sorry for you" when we all know that's a lie.
Again, get educated before being a negative Nancy about everything. Things will be ok. I understand you're a crochety old man, but take some deep breaths and just relax.

Re: Stadium experience Director
I am just like you guys. Just not bitching about the same things you guys are,. No more petty than you. No more sensitive than you. No more angry than you. No more crotchety than you. No more negative than you guys (wait til we lose a football game). Or barely beat an opponent we should have pummeled,. Wait till the coach calls the "wrong" play. Wait til a ref makes a call in favor of the other team. Wait till the contractor doesn't build something exactly the way we wanted or doesn't finish in time. Wait until we don't fire a coach we thought should have been., Wait until we hire someone we don't want. etc etc etc
I was in favor of moving up to I-A (FBS) but not at the expense of cutting non-rev sports. Track was our perennially best winning sport. Non rev producing though. Soccer was king back in asu66' day. Competed on a national stage with Vaughn Christian and Hank Steinbrecher (sp) (who coached asu66).. Baseball beat some of the big boys from time to time. Cremins took us to the NCAA Basketball tourney after having sucked for years and kinda of newly out of NAIA. Baseball, even in NAIA days picked off some of the big boys...with no athletic scholarships.
Point is, we can do this again. But we don't show many signs of it. Football is booming, but the other sports, not so much. Our football facilities are top notch. But we want bigger and better. Not a bad thing but maybe too zealous. maybe.
Watch the rats jump ship when and if we have a couple losing seasons in a row. Hell, the bitching an moaning came out when we went 6-6.
