All of Louisville’s money can’t be tied up buying out Petrino since they have already offered Brohm $5 million. They have the money to pay whomever they hire.

IF 1 million is all they offer, i would be very surprised if he accepted it. That isn't much more than he is making now. Its even more offensive when you consider the 5 mil/year they offered Brohm. I understand not offering as much to someone unproven at the P5 level, but if Satterfield is the guy you want now, you are going to have to make it a little sweeter

He hired Jimmy after already having an agent. There’s literally no other logical conclusion to come to. And you keep pushing this narrative about his children, being that both his boys seemed to be pretty skilled athletes I’d be willing to bet they’d love to see their pops on the sideline of an ACC team competing at the highest level against the likes of Clemson and FSU. We’re a fine program, but there’s levels to this stuff.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 11:45 pmSo tell me, do you only read the headlines and draw conclusions because you think you have seen enough to make an educated opinion, or is it because reading more than a paragraph makes your head hurt?Yosef10 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 10:37 amLol how tired are you from the mental gymnastics? He hired Sexton for one simple reason, to find him the best job paying the most money - that ain’t App my man.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 9:29 pmFair question. The obvious conclusion that most people would jump to is that he is looking to leave. Maybe it was to hammer out the details of his last contract or review the language to ensure that he was getting what he wanted. Maybe it was so that he knew that his name would come up for future jobs and Sexton is the best at working behind the scenes to do the grunt work so that Satt can focus on coaching. Maybe he hired him to keep his name relevant while his kids finish school here and then he is open to leave. If you keep turning down jobs eventually people will quit offering you. There are a whole host of reasons why he could have hired him. People tend to gravitate to the low hanging fruit (reason for hiring him) because it takes the least amount of effort.AppSt91 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 9:22 pmIf he's already in his dream job, why did he hire the biggest shark in the water as an agent?AppSt94 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 9:14 pm
True, but if you were the next in line for the offer and the guy in front of you didn't want it, would that not make you think twice about it yourself? I get your point about it being a P5 but you are giving up job security for a potential short term gig. The avg HC in D1 is 3.8 years. I don't care how much money you are making, that is a rough life. Satt knows this, so he owes it to himself to ask is it worth leaving your dream job for it.
He hired Jimmy Sexton last summer to handle his contract extension. If his intent was to jump ship at the first P5 offer, then why would he pay JS to handle the extension?

Let's take a moratorium on this until Sunday. Got a championship to win.

I suspect that a coach doesn't "hire Jimmy". I think that it is likely Jimmy who decides who he wants to represent and I think that whether it is a coach or an AD when Jimmy calls you pick up the phone asap.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 6:44 pmHe hired Jimmy after already having an agent.
