It will be awhile before we know if Fortune was a big loss or not. GaSo often does a good job of bringing in athletes and getting them in the right position (as does App). Let's just hope he goes 0 for 4 against the Apps in the next 4 seasons. App appears to be stacked at WR but DB appears to be more wide open competition wise. I just hope all these kids are happy with their choices and get those sheepskins!MAD Doctor wrote:Not to "Mock" him, but Fortune is gnat a big loss (no typo).
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Exactly. They averaged 13.6 passes per game. in 2013, it was 3 passes per game. That is more than their traditional offense. Like JT said, Fritz threw the ball much more at Sam Houston -- he just has to get his athletes in to throw it as much as he wants.EastHallApp wrote: GSU ranked 125th of 128 in the nation last year in both pass attempts and passing yardage. Air Force and Georgia Tech both threw the ball more often than they did.
I agree it's not all about position. Never said it was. I was simply saying that he gets to stay in home state and was being recruited for a different position at Jaja, so I don't think it was sketchy at all. Now, if it was the same exact position and the offer came yesterday, then yes, I might think it was sketchy.EastHallApp wrote: I don't think it's necessarily sketchy either. Just don't think it was all about position. I don't think the idea that he misled the App coaches about his preferred position makes sense. Think about it - if he wanted to be at App so badly that he'd do that, why flip somewhere else without even telling them he preferred WR? If that is what happened, then he didn't think the process through very well.
Regardless, I think we are saying the same thing -- just in a different way.

Yeah, I think you're right. Though actually I wouldn't find it sketchy at all if the offer had come in yesterday - then I'd just think that was the offer he was waiting for. As it is, I wonder what changed this week after he'd held that offer for months? But that's recruiting, I guess.AppStateNews wrote:Exactly. In other news (indulge me a bit here, as this isn't directly App-related), DB Dexter Carter Jr. (Georgia Southern commit) has not faxed his LOI yet, and a GSU fan site reported on Twitter that he and Southern have "mutually parted ways."
Per 247, Carter was their highest-rated commit, so take that "mutually" with a full shaker of salt IMO.

I believe Victor Johnson is one of our best OL player in this class. He looks to be proficient as a pass blocker, with quick feet, long arms and excellent use of his hands. He will put on 25-30 pounds of muscle over the next year. Besides, he's already a member of the App Striped Squad.

Is this something that will be resolved soon? Or is this an issue that will prevent him from suiting up next fall?

GS took some real hits to their class, 4 or 5 kids flipped in the last 4 or 5 days, and it looks like they will drop from the first to 3rd or 4h best in the SBC (if you buy the star system crap). 2 were their top rated defensive players, at positions they we weak, DE and DB.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
Their class isn't first now - it's third on 247, fourth on Rivals, and both of those still include Carter as a commit.moehler wrote:GS took some real hits to their class, 4 or 5 kids flipped in the last 4 or 5 days, and it looks like they will drop from the first to 3rd or 4h best in the SBC (if you buy the star system crap). 2 were their top rated defensive players, at positions they we weak, DE and DB.
Will be interesting to see where he winds up. Sounds like he might be pining for a P5 offer that may not come.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
A friend of mine that is very close to the NDHS program told me several months ago that he probably wouldn't qualify. It looks like that turned out to be true, and Morgan was next in line.24AppState wrote:Is this something that will be resolved soon? And highly likely to experience all 4 of them in a 2 hour period in May.

Looks like he won't be with us after all. Perhaps a Juco route?JTApps1 wrote:A friend of mine that is very close to the NDHS program told me several months ago that he probably wouldn't qualify. I already like this youngster. I hope he adapts well to culture and geography shock and becomes a behemoth on our brick-wall line. He will graduate from an honors private school, so his academics should work out. And he certainly has the size. Imagine what Iron Mike Sirignano will do with and for him!

Proud triple-degree App grad--Classes of '66, '70 and '81.

Anyone else having problems with Yosefs Cabin's page going down? It will work for a few minutes and goes off line. Maybe it's my computer and/or internet..
