We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. Game Ball
Time to bring this back:
- Coaching staff
- Gibbs - two INTs, 8 tackles
- Oline - 0 sacks and 450 yards rushing
Me I'd give it to the Oline. While the coaches deserve credit their plan if executed would have yielded - 4-3 record to date. That Oline executed and dominated!

Re: Game Ball
I like your nominees. For me though I am going to give it to Cox and Upshaw. Both ran downhill and with purpose and intent to be violent with anyone wanting to stop them.Saint3333 wrote:Time to bring this back:

Re: Game Ball
I'm going with the defense. After giving up the first TD drive, they pitched a shutout.

Re: Game Ball
give it to the entire secondary, Woody finally took the training wheels off, he press coveraged, blitzed, used different packages, and basically it was "sink or swim" for the secondary, they came thru big time!!

Re: Game Ball
Secondary grew up Saturday for sure. Will see how they do against Arbuckle in two weeks.
Re: Game Ball
Yes they did. Very impressive. Speaking of the defense, did something change there scheme-wise with Woody? Or were they just so jacked up at how the offense was playing? Appeared they were more aggressive with blitzes, rushing the qb and forcing hurried throws that the secondary could capitalize on. We better keep doing this and not revert back to rushing 3 and soft coverage!AppinVA wrote:I'm going with the defense. After giving up the first TD drive, they pitched a shutout.
Re: Game Ball
They were really pumped because the S&C Coordinator gave a great pre game speech.
Same last year when Cobb gave the pre game talk before the GaSo game.
Those are the only two have seen mentioned. That seems odd.

Re: Game Ball
agree 100% about the defensive schemes. Looks like Woody finally took off the training wheels, I think its one week too late, if he would have done this against Liberty, we would have easily won the game. Common sense says you cant play good defense rushing 3, backing the safeties/corners off 10 yds, very little blitzing, and running the same schemes almost every play. For the first time all year long we made an opposing qb uncomfortable in the pocket, we mixed up the schemes, we brought blitzes from every angle, corner, linebacker, safeties, we stunted our defensive line, bottom line is we actually played defense the way it is meant to be played!!

Re: Game Ball
On offense it was great to see a lot of 2 and on occasion, 3 back sets with a fullback/tight end and even WR in the backfield. The offense was not at all predictable as in recent games and the extra blocking back really paid off. Also saw some miss-direction and even an end around. Lamb's ball handling and decision making on the option was extremely good. Also, can't say enough about how hard all the backs ran. We were sitting directly behind the team and those guys were having a blast playing great football. There was high intensity and emotion from the get-go. Woody was really vocal and firing the guys up which was great to see.
This is a team deserved game ball as all parts of the team contributed.

Oline: there were some serious downfield blocking....Acey had a pancake after he had his guy on roller skates...on Cox' run and stiffarm TD.
There were many defensive standouts....I gotta go with Law
Comment of the game: DJ: There was not a tackle made by a senior today.
