Wasn't Swann almost sacked on the play.. not sure if could have run. Thought the outlet safety option to Larkins in the flat would have been better choice given the heat he was facing on the play.
Would need to go back and review to see if running was actually an option.

From an anonymous parent in the TIGMA Facebook group. Take it how you will, but it's out there.
I’m my son’s agent. We can’t afford to pay anyone to do anything. No NIL. No scholarship. Just my hard earned money and loan payments so he can be on the roster year after year. Recruited by Shawn Clark and endured the hellacious emotional year of last season. And has stayed LOYAL. He endures day in and day out just for an ounce of playing time in the game he loves. He’s been told not going to happen because he’s not on scholarship. But he can’t get on scholarship because the transfer portal takes precedence over loyalty. Kind of a catch-22 and irony I guess you’d say. And it’s a shame because after today’s game, coach REFUSED to let the players meet their families on the field still dressed out in their uniforms. Penalized them and us, keeping us from sharing that moment with one another. Yeah, it was a loss. But it was poor coaching by HC. Our sons earned the right to take pictures IN UNIFORM with their parents who support them in any and every way necessary. But I pay for that uniform. And Narcissistic Napoleon needs to stop bullying these kids and treating them like dirt. Maybe he should work on his family skills and he might have a winning team…
***Davis was bullied out as well by coaches. That’s is why Coach refuses to talk about it publicly. He doesn’t want the truth to come out. There is a huge locker room/team problem. It seems if one speaks up, questions or speaks out, you are gone. Narcissism at its finest. Definitely not App State culture or football.

It's going to be an awful finish to an awful season. When was the last time we lost every game in November, or 4/5/6 in a row?
Despite this disaster, I am giving coach a no strings attached pass on this season. We have no QB and a dearth of talent and depth.

Re: Stink discussion
Saint333 had me excited until i read it was sarcasm. I would love to run an option. We seem to focus on a quarterback that needs us to "showcase" his throwing talent. No thanks. (I love Joey Aguilar and i am glad he is getting time at Tennessee but i want to win amd only win. I dont wamt to showcase the talent of a quarterback as we lose games) And to both you and Bootsy....we arent playing Alabama.....for God sake it was Coastal Carolina. We need a quarterback that can outrun Coastal....not Ohio State. We should be able to get a quarterback of that talent and give him a runnable offense that needs a throw on occasion. We are talking about beating Coastal Carolina.....GEeEEEEZZZZZ. Swan is scared to death to get hit. He throws off of his back foot leaning backwards because he is scared to get hit. If i were a coach and my college quarterback ever slid he would be out of the game. Nothing says toughness to the rest of the team like a sliding quarterback.

Re: Stink discussion
Everyone should do what they feel is best for them, without judgement. I am 100% against this NIL environment we live in. It has become a bastardization of its original intent. If I won one of the massive lotteries out there right now, I would donate a substantial amount to the university itself, but not one dime would go towards NIL and this renting of teenagers. That being said, I don't have any negative opinion of those who do fund NIL collectives. It's their money, not mine.appbio91 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 12:15 pmAppreciate the calibrated response. I will still be there and still contribute. We will survive.rbarthle17 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 11:38 amYou have assessed the situation accurately. Not just for us though, this is the reality for everyone outside of the top 30 programs in the nation that can throw Monopoly money around.appbio91 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 11:28 amI am on the ledge guys, need to be talked back. I can’t see how we ever get back to sustainable greatness. It’s just going to be one off luck of the draw from here on out. It just doesn’t feel the same anymore for me. I love the name on the jersey and the place but no connection to the team. Hell I recognized the traitor’s name last night more than some of our own players. Shit!!
You need to redefine what "sustainable greatness" means to you. To me now that will be above 500 seasons every year, and the occasional year we catch lightning in a bottle and make a run at the G5 playoff spot.
When (not if) those top 30 break off and go their own way, we can reevaluate what that means when the landscape changes again.

I am not worried about what a walk-on wants. That post makes one thing very evident - the players that are holdovers believe they are the SHIT. They believe the program revolves around their being and getting their way. That is not an acceptable culture. Dowell is weeding out the weak to build a strong team. Good riddance to that player and their mom!

I had to pause the TIGMA group feed because of all the BS posted there.... there is more whining there than on here. If it's such a hardship and emotional toll on the family to be part of the team and do what the coach sas then leave.... They seem to be blaming the portal issues on the coach. He didn't create the problem, he was brought in to fix the problem. Sounds like some players got coddled and now are griping because they are being held accountable. Also posting anonymously is such a crap move. If its soooooo horrible be visible and speak out. If not, then take it up with the chancellor and not facebook.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 1:37 pmWow, if true this speaks volumes as to what we’re witnessing on the field.T-Dog wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 1:20 pmFrom an anonymous parent in the TIGMA Facebook group. As sad as it sounds I think this is the new college football. Very “pro-ish. Loyalty in either direction is gone.

Re: Stink discussion
Yeah, this is total BS. If you're the type of person who posts anonymously to a Facebook group instead of addressing the coaching staff, you're kid is probably just as whiny and entitled. Coach has rules, and baby boy doesn't like them, so he's "Narcissistic Napoleon." Sounds like every whiny, entitled high school/travel ball parent I've ever met who undermines and invalidates every coach's authority. Also, if playing time is such a big deal, and you're good enough to walk on at App, you could probably move to FCS or D2 and get playing time. With no punishment for transferring, that seems like the smart thing to do.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 2:02 pmI had to pause the TIGMA group feed because of all the BS posted there.... there is more whining there than on here. Re: Stink discussion
I don’t quite understand the “he can’t run” thing. It’s one thing to expect a QB to take off and get 50 yards by out running the defense but it can’t be that difficult for a 20ish in shape QB to get 5 yards on an RPO or a broken play where there is a gap.
Also not quite understanding the comments that refer to our talent. I’m not really seeing it.

We are playing the hand dealt (some we dealt ourselves, some inherited). Let's just say we aren't holding pocket jacks or better, hell we aren't holding consecutive suited cards, more like a 7-10 unsuited and the flop is 2, 4, J at this point in the season.

My kids enjoy taking pictures with players in their uniform.
Seems like a silly rule, are the games the fans are allowed on the field different?

Flat to Larkin. Fine.
Run himself. Fine.
Force a pass that had little chance of completion. Not fine.
I bet that DB read his eyes and knew he was locked in on that particular receiver. He made a good play so credit to him. Our guy did not.

I could not see how close the D was to Swann. But I could see swann. It was a throw that should not have been made. It was basically man coverage at that point as it was we and db. Not sure the locked in on WR matter, the wr was the DBs guy throughout the play

I’m not sure that QB is the problem. Hard to get an accurate assessment when your OL can’t block and your receivers can’t catch.

I am a David Larkins fan so don’t read this wrong but that play was doomed from the point they lined up. Why is your blocking tight end lined up in the slot and running a corner route?

Re: Stink discussion
College football is littered with receivers who are all roughly the same size, all run fast and all know how to play and the same goes for running backs and secondary defenders but when the lights come on and the opponent isn’t your team’s offense in controlled practices things change. We appear to have some talent (on the surface) at receiver but it’s pointless if they drop passes. We also appear to have a pretty good thrower of the ball at QB but when you either don’t have time or don’t (or can’t) go through a few progressions and pass to a receiver not heavily covered it’s also pointless. Locking in on the first read and throwing the ball even if the guy isn’t open is not only pointless it’s also a recipe for a loss.
