Boise Tailgate
Reckon its never to early to talk about tailgating...
Anybody been to BSU before or know of any good bars to hit before the game? We will be flying in so wont be getting a parking pass for this one, looks like they do have GA lots you can purchase day of game for those who will have a truck [https://boisestatebaa.com/sports/2023/8 ... rking.aspx].
TIA

Staying at the Courtyard and walking to the Alumni Association tailgate and then to the stadium.

After the Wyoming fiasco I said I would never attend another Alumni Association tailgate. The one at UNC wasn’t bad though.

Are you talking about the game and situational coaching or the actual alumni tailgate being a fiasco?Lowcountry App wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 3:40 pmAfter the Wyoming fiasco I said I would never attend another Alumni Association tailgate. The one at UNC wasn’t bad though.

Re: Boise Tailgate
Yeah, they were both bad but I was talking about the tailgate. The venue was way too small for the crowd and getting a seat, food and a drink was almost impossible. As far as the game we had it won and blew it.311neers wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 3:46 pmAre you talking about the game and situational coaching or the actual alumni tailgate being a fiasco?Lowcountry App wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 3:40 pmAfter the Wyoming fiasco I said I would never attend another Alumni Association tailgate. Re: Boise Tailgate
The alumni tailgates are always ho-hum but convenient. You show up and leave with no cleanup. The best one that I’ve been to was the one in Louisiana at the CCG. Walk-Ons catered it.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Fri Jul 04, 2025 6:12 amNeither A&M or Wyoming were great. I am a glutton for punishment. Agreed it was good. It just seems we under estimate the number that will attend for the location. I get we try to get RSVPAppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 04, 2025 6:29 amThe alumni tailgates are always ho-hum but convenient. You show up and leave with no cleanup. There are always GameDay folks. Hard to plan for that. I just roll with the flow.

Same. The fiancé is a board member for the local alumni group so we go to show support.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Fri Jul 04, 2025 6:41 amAgreed it was good. Re: Boise Tailgate
As much as I enjoy a good tailgate, my new city approach is to just find a local restaurant for lunch and then just explore the area around the stadium and soak in the atmosphere. We found a great local cajun joint in Lafayette, had great food and a brief conversation with Keith Gill. In Laramie, we met a couple of former Cowboy players on the street downtown who had played when they visited Boone. They recommended a local restaurant/watering hole and we had another great lunch. Most likely, that will our plan in Boise.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 04, 2025 6:29 amThe alumni tailgates are always ho-hum but convenient. You show up and leave with no cleanup. Re: Boise Tailgate
Yeah, that’s me as well. We are not tailgaters so we float from spot to spot killing time in Boone. We have the same approach as you when on the road. Went to Olde Tyme Grocery the last time we were in Lafayette. There are some good spots in Boise that I have seen featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives that we will hit while in town.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 8:48 amAs much as I enjoy a good tailgate, my new city approach is to just find a local restaurant for lunch and then just explore the area around the stadium and soak in the atmosphere. Re: Boise Tailgate
Next time we go to Lafayette, yall need to just walk through the tailgating lots wearing App gear. Cajun fans are the best, bar none, at inviting opposing teams fans to their tailgates to sample their jambalaya and hospitality. And Granddad has been stirring the cauldron of jambalaya for a day and a half. Im not kidding. The jambalaya will cure what ails tou. If you bring a bottle of your favorite adult beverage and share, they will invite you back. I speak from experience.
