Guarantee it wasn't as bad as 54-7 the first time as we broke in the spread offense while it rained 3 inches.

We had a great time. Home crowd very friendly. Would like to see us play them again at some point. Had not planned it. However, given later start time, we actually went to Medicine Bow National Forest/Park early in the morning before we tailgated. It was a nice surprise.ah59396 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 10:54 amGreat experience though I loved Laramie.appfanjj wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 10:42 amI was at that game. Nice adds to my question but I was really curious how many teams cross 3 time zones and win not simply a few hours from Boone across the Mississippi River

Moscow, Idaho is in Pacific Time
Boise, Idaho is in Mountain Time
App State's only previous Mountain Time Zone win was New Mexico State 2016.

Re: So Miss discussion
i have sort of a sinking feeling about this game....i think we are talented enough to win a lot of games this year...talented enough to win this one....but i swear the win over lindenwood felt like a loss...yes i know we had 4 TO's and tons of dropped passes...but we just didn't look good. Sure hope coach can get it cleaned up. We have SO many new starters and players in general...all new coaches...this is a learning year. Hopefully ends in a bowl. We have a lot to fix this week.

Re: So Miss discussion
It may have been the best learning experience for a team if coaches handle it right. For sure they all realize they aren't 10 feet tall and bullet proof now. At least I hope. I am cautiously optimistic!ncman071 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 4:16 pmi have sort of a sinking feeling about this game....i think we are talented enough to win a lot of games this year...talented enough to win this one....but i swear the win over lindenwood felt like a loss...yes i know we had 4 TO's and tons of dropped passes...but we just didn't look good. We will turn it around. Most every G5 team has tons of new players, we're not really an outlier. We're all dealing with the same challenge. App State by 2 touchdowns!

There were actually more than a few Week 2 games that ended up being closer than you would’ve originally thought. I agree with my learned colleague above: we’ll have a much clearer picture by the end of the 4th game.

Re: So Miss discussion
Take away some of the penalties and add the dropped pass yardage and App finishes that game with over 600 yards of offense and probably holds Lindenwood to less than 200.ncman071 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 4:16 pmi have sort of a sinking feeling about this game....i think we are talented enough to win a lot of games this year...talented enough to win this one....but i swear the win over lindenwood felt like a loss...yes i know we had 4 TO's and tons of dropped passes...but we just didn't look good. I don’t know if that’s a rationalization or if I’m actually believing the team was better than the turnovers seemed to indicate. The biggest issue to this point is efficiency represented by converting yardage to points. I think that comes from DL throwing to set up the run, rather than just seeing what the game flow is and calling to that.
He seems hellbent on throwing to get up big in the scoreboard and then running clock off. However against Lindenwood, the way App ran the ball, there should have been 55 carries and maybe 25 pass attempts, in my opinion.

Re: So Miss discussion
Over the last 5 or so years how many games have we played and won where you can point to it and say it was clean and efficient? Not many. We seem to morph into penalties, bad and untimely turnovers, poor execution on defense, numerous mental breakdowns, etc. Roll the clock back 10 years and we had many a game that was just well played and executed. We simply can’t seem to eliminate stupid stuff. Hoping that changes Saturday.

Last Saturday was a game that allowed everyone to show if they are glass half full or half empty types, and both would be able to find valid justifications for their chosen viewpoints.ericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 7:41 amTake away some of the penalties and add the dropped pass yardage and App finishes that game with over 600 yards of offense and probably holds Lindenwood to less than 200.ncman071 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 4:16 pmi have sort of a sinking feeling about this game....i think we are talented enough to win a lot of games this year...talented enough to win this one....but i swear the win over lindenwood felt like a loss...yes i know we had 4 TO's and tons of dropped passes...but we just didn't look good. Re: So Miss discussion
Your last statement is interesting. Have you considered that we don’t have a RB room that you can rely on to shoulder that workload. Dubinion had 25 of 33 of the attempts. Sure Keith and Lewis could have gotten more than 1 carry each but they weren’t in line to get a huge workload. Keith is coming off an injury to his foot so you work him in slowly. Lewis is a true freshmen and isn’t ready for a heavy load. Next man up is Alexander, another Freshman. That’s a lot of carries for that trio.ericsaid wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 7:41 amTake away some of the penalties and add the dropped pass yardage and App finishes that game with over 600 yards of offense and probably holds Lindenwood to less than 200.ncman071 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 4:16 pmi have sort of a sinking feeling about this game....i think we are talented enough to win a lot of games this year...talented enough to win this one....but i swear the win over lindenwood felt like a loss...yes i know we had 4 TO's and tons of dropped passes...but we just didn't look good.
