We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

H@ll no if he would bring the triple option to Boone...want to see season ticket sales decline.... promotion that we will throw the ball less than 10 times a game

Not advocating for Brown, but expecting high levels of success for WVU in the Big12 is as misguided as expecting success for Rutgers in the Big Ten or Vanderbilt in the SEC.

Yea no freakin kidding … all the P4 jobs that G5 coaches get (maybe excluding Indiana) are in bad shape… playing with mostly 3 star kids having to beat 4 star teams at the top…. very very hard to do. And as Brown pointed out rightly that WVU was towards the bottom of the conference in spending….. compared with Troy and App who were/are not at the bottom of spending. And let’s be clear, we are looking at least 2 seasons before we are competitive in the conference.

I’m intrigued by Woods as well, although I wonder how SMU making the playoffs might affect his hiring.asu7 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 10:36 amI dunno much about Casey woods but that seems to be what we are waiting on. I will go do some research on Woods. What if SMU beats clempsun? Do we wait longer? BTW if SMU loses tonight the playoff committee is going to have a hard job.
Edit … well I just looked to see who he is but saw who his dad was. That makes a lot of sense now.
It’s fair to wonder if Woods would be willing to step away from SMU and miss coaching in the playoffs.
I know money talks but that would feel like a terrible time to leave your team.
And we can’t wait on him.

The sun belt was much weaker then, and this was Pre-NIL. The college landscape has changed a lot in the last 4 years. What has he done in that timeframe?

Have there been any major changes in college football since Brown took over at WVU?
Not advocating for Brown but this is just a lazy way to look at that job.

Re: Realistic coaching options for 2025...
I do not think he would have to walk away. If allowed to do so while at SMU (not sure of the rules on this) ...The two primary responsibilities this time of year that is mission critical is putting together his staff and calling unsigned recruits or potential recruits. If he can name OC and DC, they can help out with that process.
Yes, there are much more responsibilities of a coach...but those two are the mission critical over next few weeks. If he does well in playoffs, that indirectly helps recruiting as they will probably mention he is taking the head coach at App. St. several times during TV broadcast.
He is in coaching. He can multitask....if allowed under the rules...

Not lazy, nor isolated. I'm a West Virginian and did my residency in Morgantown. I've watched probably 80% of WVU games ( if I'm not at KBS). He's basically Shawn Clark in a visor. Outside of running a clean program, Brown did nothing in last 6 years to earn the App job

How do y'all feel about Dowell Loggains? His name is getting thrown out a bit.

Interesting candidate. Helped with SC’s resurgence in a loaded SEC. Helped turn Rattler back into a draftable QB.

Re: Realistic coaching options for 2025...
There was an article on 247 that listed his as one of the worst play callers. Tried to post it, but no luck. My question is what is his success linked to at SC? Is he actually good or is it the prolific QB he has right now?

Re: Realistic coaching options for 2025...
It’s actually Clayton White and the defense. Would rather have him as a home grown NC native that knows the High School circuit. No on Loggains, not even sure SC fans like that hire 2 years ago. A bunch of NC State fans want White as their DC if Tony Gibson leaves. (Clayton White played at State under Amato)
