We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Possibly unpopular opinion, but I’m not a fan of the students sliding down the hill in the mud. Kinda feeds into the hillbilly stereotype.

I think it would be cool to replace the hill with general admission grandstands. Kind of a miniature “Yellow Wall” like at Borussia Dortmund.
App. Is supposed to serve the people of rural NC. Being one of those folk I can tell you we know how to have fun in and with the great outdoors. And we don’t mind getting a little dirt on us. If people think that makes us stupid well that’s their loss and I don’t care at all.
Yeah man, I’m from rural WNC as well. I don’t see how a bunch of idiots sliding thru the mud every home game is some symbol of Appalachian pride. To me it just looks like kids being dumb and begging for a major injury/litigation.

I admittedly argue about a lot of stupid stuff on here, yet able to refrain here. Take a break today.

Happy Thanksgiving to all Mountaineers today!

So you see a “bunch of idiots” and I see folks having some fun. Two observations, one, maybe you are the one doing the stereotyping and two, I’m glad I can still see fun.

The intensity of the hangover probably overwhelms any injury pain that occurred. Also, when you’re 18 years old, you tend to heal quickly. And who wants to go to the infirmary with a Miller Hill injury?

As someone who crashed into the music building on a stolen cafeteria tray, I think the hill looks to have a much softer landing.

President’s lawn/hill before music building was there. We were glad when snow plows put a bank to stop us.

I think we should install seats on the hill. Looks awful late in the season.

Besides, then the board members won’t be able to sugar coat an embarrassing loss by saying at least the students had fun sliding down the hill. :)

I like when people complain about a lack of tradition at football games, and then want to take away a tradition that was created organically. I havent been a fan as long as some of you, but it sounds like people have sliding down Miller Hill (and enjoying themselves) for years, and current students continue to slide down the hill and enjoy themselves.

I like the packed hill and the visuals it creates. I think seeing thousand students packed on to the hill, being ridiculous and passionate, is one of the more memorable parts of the stadium experience - outside of the game itself. Parents joining their kids to slide down Miller Hill on family weekend is always a good time.

I about broke my damn neck on suicide hill back in 1989 or 1990. I went down head first, DRUNK, and it wasn't a good thing to do.
