Re: Jack Murphy
Ask yourself this. If it was your child that passed, would you feel the same way towards telling folks? Not shaming, just adding a perspective to the conversation.

Re: Jack Murphy
And again here I'm different and I would want others to avoid the pain if possible. But understand wanting it to just remain private for most people.

Re: Jack Murphy
Prayers to the family.
Death is personal to each family and each family is different in how they want to handle their personal situation. From my family perspective for example, not me...but one of my older brothers, dad and uncle, they would not want anyone to know if not from natural causes. Just how they operate....My wife's family on the other hand...let's share the news on how it happened.... maybe it will help someone. I have zero knowledge of how Jack Murphy died and really none of my business.
I think Jack Murphy's family will handle how they believe best for them. Each family handles these types of events differently.
Once the shock and pain is over ..and given time..., I hope the family is open to App. St. Football celebrating the life of Jack Murphy in some form or fashion each and every game this year.

Re: Jack Murphy
Since I am also a dad of a daughter that attends App. St., I am on one of the family pages. Many prayers mentioned on the board and parents referencing their sons/daughters knowing Jack Murphy and that he was well liked. App Family

Prayers for Jacks family, friends and teammates. This awful situation, the horrible events in Charlotte yesterday, the deadly tornadoes in the Midwest and the unrest at our country’s universities. The world is a hard place to be in right now. Be kind to each other and especially the young people in your life. Our young folks need hope!!!

Praying for the Murphy family during this unimaginable time of tragedy and pain. I pray Gods calming mercy be laid upon the family and close friends during this time. Once a Mountaineer always a Mountaineer!

Re: Jack Murphy
Personally I've seen a lot of death myself, including way too many times of a young adult like this. Obviously the family is dealing with the shock right now. In time the decision to release cause will come from them. They have a lot to deal with and it's obviously not high on their list.

I really dont need to know how he passed. Again, I'll know when I know. Bad enough as it is. I'm sure all feel the same way.

Re: Jack Murphy
I lost a son several years ago to an overdose. That's a brutal pain that lasts forever. You miss a grandparent who dies old but at least they lived a full life.

Re: Jack Murphy
There is the natural course of things , even loss, that we expect , such as that of our parents . To lose a child must certainly be a nightmare. I’m very sorry for your loss.

It was a nice thread. It's unfortunate that it takes tragedy to bring out the humanity in people now.AppinVA wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 9:18 pmI’ll add that it’s one fan. And then some people are just insufferable pricks all the time.
