The post-Spring Practice portal rush has happened. There might be one or two more.

Unlike basketball, I don't think this is panic worthy.

Rosters have a way of working themselves out. Does anyone know our scholarship count now? I would bet we are not at 85 anymore and have some room to add now without losing anymore.

In my humble opinion, we have major problems on the D-line now.
I was hoping we would add additional D-line talent, instead we’re losing it.

I sure hope we have a plan, especially to get bigger in the middle.

I really don't think the 2 DL that left were cut or let go by our staff as we are not deep at those positions. I do think they wanted more playing time (and perhaps a different scheme) than we can give so they moved on. I really think this was a players decision as opposed to being forced out by the staff.

The coaches can’t do it for the players. You bring guys in with talent and coach them but sometimes it just never clicks. It’s more prominent with OL because it is the position group with the most players on the field at one time. Naturally there will be misses. Clark has proven very capable of finding OL talent in the portal who have the work ethic necessary to succeed.

Sure he can land guys in the portal. But, we’re having to land guys in the portal because we haven’t developed many OL we’ve recruited out of high school. The lack of OL development has led to us transitioning DT/DL to play offensive line.

Hopefully the staff is looking at that and focusing on trying to correct it. If we hit on high school recruits we don't have to go to the portal so much and I would imagine that is the goal.
