We finished 4-8 in 2013 in our first transition year.

And we started off 1-5 in 2014 but closed out strong and finished 7-5.

Satt and his staff thought they were getting fired, they go to Troy and blow them out, rest is history for his era.

That and money is why you don’t make a move during the season. I don’t think Shawn will turn it around but it is still possible. If he loses 2 more though he is done. I think we got 1 more loss we can take and we are coming up on the hardest part of the league schedule.

If we are living by your rules, then he will be a goner.

They are not my rules. My rules and your rules don't matter. What matters is the rules by the big donors, Everts, and Gillin and my understanding is that if we lose 2 more they will want to look elsewhere.

He beat the #1 recruiting class in the country. They went 5-7 last year. Michigan was #5 in 2007, and beat Tebow and Florida in a bowl game. Clark was a horrible hire. Get over the fact that we have to defend him because he's one of "Jerry's Kids." We are going to have to become that stepping stone program. Cincinnati put out of the likes of Brian Kelly, Mark Dantonio, and Luke Fickell. Many young coaches would give to come here and win. I like winning, and the people who have hardware like winning as well. When you build a school solely on the back of your football program, get used to the constant rotation of good quality coaches. We're not Alabama, Georgia, etc. We are not getting Nick Saban or Kirby Smart to be with us for the long haul.

Honestly, what did y'all think was going to happen? In December of 2019 I said that Clark was a lazy hire. He's a good man, an App man, but it was a lazy hire. I was on an island. It should never have taken this long for you to see it. At this point it is what it is. But Gillin made a lazy hire.

It was a big win because they were suppose to be top 10 but clearly were not. They did not even go to a bowl game and were 5-7. I know A&M is most high profile win by Clark, and it was big just because it was on road against SEC, but Troy was our best quality win last year. Coastal Carolina in 2021 was a better quality win as well. They were at least receiving votes in the final poll.

I just hope Shawn can turn it around but I have said repeatedly that I have doubts. He needs to win 4 of the last 5 and this is the toughest league stretch starting after this week.

Actually Coach Brakefield beat South Carolina in 1975, not sure what conference everyone was in back then.

I believe they were independent , a few years out of the ACC.
