Jesus how dare coach Clark take the lead! Fire him! Joey throwing a dart!
I wouldn't call a 4th down dart from Joey great coaching.

With some of these calls I feel like Clark is coaching for his job. Maybe that is me projecting but going for a TD pass on 4th and 4. Guts.

Not a complaint but an observation: We are having to convert on 4th down and ODU seems to be scoring with more ease. But we are up by 1 so we have that.

Talent is not the issue with this team.

Clark is going to be in the spitting hall of fame. Every time the camera pans onto him.
Nasty.

My amateur observations:

Joey is playing pretty well overall. Keeps plays alive , makes decent decisions

Defense makes great plays, followed by dumb ones- ie take bad angles, get out of position

Clark may not be our guy, but IMHO replacing him at year’s end will set us back another 2-3 seasons.

For some reason I feel like next year we connect the dots and win the close ones against good teams and dominate the crap teams.
Set us back from what?
I don’t know why, but I feel like we’re on the brink of excellence or at least drastic improvement . A coaching change will upset the apple cart. Idk. Just an opinion.
Or we’re on the brink of losing legitimately every bit of momentum we’ve built up over the years. For me, I’d rather take a risk on a new coach who will excite the team and fanbase than stick with something that isn’t working out of hope that next season is the season we get it all together.
I think this argument was better made after Clarks first year and even after the way the second year ended. Problem is that now we have legitimate reasons that we are playing the way we are. Truth is that head coaching is hard and it takes some learning. Clark is still learning but I think he has made progress. Our team is young but they play hard and don't quit even if they do make mistakes. People have an unrealistic expectation of G5 winning. WASU 93 had a good thread showing G5 program winning, in short NOBODY does it every year without some down years.

It quite literally feels like he’s coaching for his job. 4th down going for it every time! Haha! Lucky dog.
Law of averages will catch up to us on 4th downs. 4th and 4 that time. Glad we scored but that's desperation and not confidence.
Actually, the law of averages says that all but the 4th and 4 that they scored on were high probability plays. There’s a lot of criticism to give Clark, but I love his use of analytics.

Have you been watching the games? What in the world could make you think that? The defense is nowhere even close to where it needs to be
Yes, I’ve been watching the games to my detriment— I guess I’m trying to be a full on optimist, something I typically avoid at all costs.

Our D is tough to watch, but I think the O is teetering on greatness.

I know where we stand. It’s uncomfortable to say the least. Just trying to push good vibes.

I guess this imperial stout has me optimistic

I’d be more inclined to agree with OP’s opinion if folks hadn’t been saying “just wait til they put it all together next year!” For three years.

We may just have to agree to disagree here.

Nice defensive stand there, now time to turn it on and put another TD on the board. Damn, that ball just bounced the wrong way for us. Gonna have to be a long drive.
