JMU reminds me of old App State

Making tackles, spreading the field, running, catching, causing turnovers, not making mistakes...... very well coached and executed by players..... they used to trash talk, now they just beat you

Agree - I had the same thought. Whole team effort - a lot of unity on the JMU sidelines.

JMU might beat us by 30 if we don't get a lot better, especially on defense.

They're the gold standard in the Belt right now. Second year and they have a legitimate chance to run the table. It's impressive.

I used to clamor for some 6'3 230ish linebackers instead of the 6'1 215ish ones we had but dang those dudes were fast and were not afraid to tackle. We just don't have any nasty

Their defensive front look like monsters also. I'm not sure we ever had that size or speed even in hay day. We have always been scrappy. Not shined and polished like that team. I'm actually envious of what they have put together. I don't think it'd fair they can't go post season. Weren't we only 1 year not bowl eligible? Why are they 2 years?

We played our first transition year against SoCon competition and the second in the SBC. They are doing both against the Sun Belt. Unfair, yes, but not that different than what we did, as we were technically bowl eligible (7-5) in 2014.

We will see, we looked the same way at the beginning and then came back down to earth. We will see what happens when they get all their coaches poached over and over, we’ve seen this before, it’s cyclical

Yep. Didn't realize they didn't transition a year in FCS. Makes sense now. Thank you

JMU has $2,700 athletic fee verses App of $790. I’m off a little

That’s what it takes to compete.

Large amount of this budget comes from student athletic fees. It's also why the other in state school is listed as second on the list. Legislation was passed which will force them to find other ways to fund athletics. Can still use student fees, just not as large of a percentage to supplement.

Understood. Looks closer to 2400, but my point remains. That is a lot more money to run an athletics department.

I watched them today and I don’t know if I’ve felt more certain in recent memory - maybe since Georgia that we’ll not only lose but get absolutely annihilated.

We will be lucky to keep them from scoring 50 on us that Saturday.

And I’m not even sure that’s an indictment on us - I just think they’re that good.
