QB Battle?

Unread post by AppStMike201 » Thu Jul 13, 2023 1:01 pm

What's the word on the QB situation? Is it Aguilar's job or does somebody else have a shot?

The thinking after spring was that it is Burger's job, but nothing is set in stone yet. I imagine Ryan and Joey will be battling it out all camp to see who gets the official nod.

It’s probably Burger but I would feel good with either one under center.

Aguilar seems to be pretty athletic but the heir apparent is Burger. Reminds me of 2005 and this kid out of Greensburg. One can hope...

Overall, I want the best one that gives us the opportunity to win. Those two or anyone else. With that said, personal preference is Burger as we could have a 4 year starter if he is good.

Whoever it is will have to grow up fast so we can win more than we lose. Tough schedule.

We had a QB who hadn't played a competitive collegiate snap go into Happy Valley in 2018 (in a QB battle that wasn't over yet) and that turned out really well.

I would bet that unless it's obviously one or the other in fall camp and practice, the QB battle won't be over until after Gardner-Webb.

Yes, live action matters and how one responds to live action.

From Sun Belt board: https://csnbbs.com/thread-972995-post-1 ... id19015640

Rundown on the preseason predictions. Of interest are the unit rankings. Our QB is obviously a question mark.

Not QB related but my son is playing football and some App players came out to help. He overheard a couple of players say this offseason has been the toughest since they’ve been here the past 3-4 years. Don’t know the exact context but guessing they mean S&C workouts and spring ball. Hopefully it pays dividends in the W column.

Based on my limited viewing of practice...McHugh looked to have the physical tools .I have no idea of where he stands mentally though.Perhaps he will red-shirt but he can move and sling it.

Yeah. That's a hybrid city in SC. Greenville plus Spartanburg. Greensburg.
